Email started on 11/9/17 as a "Letter Before Action" regarding a long overdue loan for $1310.78 and asking to settle outside the courthouse or they will proceed with legal matter and sue me for the amount plus interest.
I work in a Law Office and we deal with civil and criminal matter. I have been in email exchange with a person named Shaun King, Legislation Department. He provided me with an address in Los Angeles to which, I checked the addressed does not exist with the United States Postal Office. Furthermore, a research of Esper Law Firm does not exist in the Attorney Firm Search.
I'm asking for a phone number to get in touch with a live person and to schedule an appointment to "settle" the matter, to no avail. Instead, I get the same email that this is a long over due loand and that failure to act on it will result to my wages garnished, assets sold and more money owed.
This is clearly a scam. Beware and do not fall for it. I am still in e-mail with this person to see how far they would go to scam me. Just for the heck. I am trying to settle and asking for bank information and paperwork where to send the payment and how to send it.
Like I said, I worked in a law firm and we handle these kind of fraud activities. Just saying...
