Shopper Discount, Shopper Discounts, Reservation Rewards Unauthorized Charges stemming from Online Purchase from Closeout Catalog Outlet Shelton Connecticut

I purchased clothing online from Closeout Catalog Outlet (CCO) 1-5-09. Feb-5-09 I get two $12.00 charges against my checking account. Feb 6-09, 8:10 am, I called the first number 800-732 7031 (Reservation Rewards) and it was a recording directing me to call a "girl services" number.

I called the second number 800-889 8776 (Shopper Discounts & Rewards) and got a representative, Alice.
She told me that I signed up for Shopper Discounts & Rewards, and Reservation Rewards when I ordered from CCO, though she said my order was made Feb 5, 2009.
I told her I didn't authorize the charges to their company.

After much arguing, She said she would cancel the subscription and refund both of the $12.00 charges within 3 days...we'll see if that happens.
I asked her for the address of the company but she didn't want to give it to me, nor did she want to divulge the name of the director. I explained to her that I would report the company to the FCC and BBB for using scam tactics to gain my credit card information. She gave me the address Shopper Discounts and Rewards, PO Box 855, Shelton CT 04684 Director: Rick Fernandez.


Apparently, after I made my purchase at CCO, the web site told me that in order to finish processing and to get emails for other discounts and specials I had to "click here". I'm usually very cautious when purchasing online because of these schemes. I'm very sure I did not sign up with this company and I am absolutely positive I never authorized their company to enroll me and charge me to obtain discounts! How dumb!! Pay for discounts??? I also called my Bank who said to avoid the possibility of further charges I'll most likely have to have the bankcard canceled and a new one issued. What a pain! Beware!

Don't take those online "IQ Tests" or "Free Ring Tone" offers, as they lead to those scammers ability to charge your cell phone a $19.99 monthly fee to send you mindless, totally bizarre text messages for which there is no point, rhyme or reason!
