I purchased a bed from Sleepy's and attempted to contact the corporate headquarters in Beth Paige, NY. I had purchased a Sealy Posturepedic with 10 year warranty and it is approximately 1 1/2 years old. Mind Games and jumping through countless hoops from the onset.

Scheduling an appointment: first it takes a few days for someone to get back to you to schedule the appt. They are completely heartless in their care. If the shoe were on the other foot it would be a different story I'm sure - this is the general attitude. It's not me...Ten days after scheduling and taking a day off to wait for the so called Inspector, it takes another 10 days he said to get a reply. No reply, call the company and a Shaquila said I have your notes right here and your not entitled according to the guidelines. It has to be an inch and a half and this is 1" and 3/8".
Why offer a warranty?

They give you Sealy's number and Sealy sends you back to Sleepys. Back and forth. This bed is sagging quite a bit I filled in the area with foam and try to stay in that spot now. They prolonged my torturous sleep for over a month with a final you don't qualify. It's just obscene and a sin against human nature.

SHAME on YOU DAVID ACKER/CEO of Sleepys - maybe you can lose sleep one of these days.

Sleepy's

AUTHOR: 08873 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 25, 2011

was going to post something positive about Sleepy's, then I came across this board - and there seem to be many complaints.

first let me say that I've been a customer of theirs for many years.  purchasing mattress's and box springs for a few rooms and a second home.

i've always been treated extremely fairly, when I did have an issue with one of the mattresses I purchased after having it 2 years, they were extremely accomodating and replaced it without any question.  what more could you ask from a company?

What's up with Sleep's ? There certainly are a LOT of reports showing up about them now. I suspect they are on their way out, as has been previously suggested. It looks as though anyone making a purchase from Sleepy's is ASKING for trouble.

You Have Rights,Too!

I worked at Sleepy's for a few years, and I know that you can contact Sealy/Stearns and Foster(yes, they are both made by the same company) and you can demand a second test by a third-party Furniture Technician. These are people who have been in the industry for a good while (usually at least 5 years at a minimum) and are skilled to at least some degree in mattress manufacture. They may not be "experts", but they have received actual training in how to look for defects in the items they are inspecting on a regular basis.
When the Inspector gets there, ASK him what he is doing and why. And don't let him do anything until he tells you the answer. Take photos, notes, even set up a small camera and make a video of the encounter, all to boost your assertions. If he is wrong in what he's doing, then you got 'im! If he's right, then what the heck; at least you tried, right?
At least you will have availed yourself of your rights. And you deserve at least that. Good Luck!
