SmartMove Auto in Morrow, GA has left there location without any notice to me, one of their customers. I have been paying my car note since September 2008 on a bi-weekly basis, with either Ted, or to Linda Robinson, General Manager. This location is where I purchased the car. When I went yesterday, February 27, 2009, the gates were locked and chained, the car lot was empty, and the building looked empty.
When I dialed the phone number, I kept getting the same voice mail message I have been getting for two weeks, that they were "on another line, and that they would return my call immediately.." They haven't returned my calls.
I have also called every other SmartMove Auto in the Atlanta Metro area, and I get the same run-around message. I don't know what to do. I've called my insurance company and they say this is very usual. Please contact me. i to have bought a car from these people back in august making my payments to them then on 3-3-09 i got a call from them stating i was in the hole 192.50 not true i try to call them no answer so i went down to the location and found the same thing pllace is closed up and cars are gone well after several attempts and sending a certify letter to ga i still havent heard from any one the letter came back to me and then 2 weeks ago i heard from a female by the name of sharon who claims to be with this company she told me i have to send a money order in her name to a p.o box in ga well negative thats not going to happen does some one have ideas on this

I bought a car from Smartmove Auto in Aurora, CO back in June. They closed the lot here, and I have been making payments to someone in GA, but haven't been able to get a hold of anyone for almost a month now. I did some research through the DMV here in CO and found out that I have to file a Complaint with the "Auto Industry." For the customers in GA and NV if you look in the yellowpages I'm sure you can find the number for the "Auto Industry" neer you, or go to the Deparment of Revenue website for your state. There you will find information on how to file such complaint.There is a form that you print out and send off to them and from there I think you are assigned a person that works with you. I've run into the same problem with the one in McDonough. I found this information on BBB...According to information recieved by the BBB, the retail stores are all closed but consumers can still submits payments to the McDonough location or call the payment center at 877-668-1796...It seems fishy that they couldn't even spell 'received' right. I'm going to try and call them in the morning. Please let me know if you found a solution. I'm hoping I can just get rid of the car. Its over $6000 in negative equity is really holding me up.
