SMC, Speciality Merchandise Company Total Scam!! Still havent got my money back, rude, obnoxious salespeople, d Fontan, California

 I am a 53 year old man who has had serious health problems over the years. I had a heart transplant 12 years ago, Bladder Cancer 2 years ago, which resulted in radical surgery to remove my bladder and prostrate, followed by 3 months of chemotherapy . I am blessed!! At the moment I'm cancer free and although I'm disabled, I have a brand new Granddaughter that is the light of our lives!

My wife works long hours to make ends meet, and I am looking for oppurtunities to help where I can! This is where the SMC story starts!

One morning(Nov.3^rd) as I got up the TV had the old smiling face of Tom Bosley (Happy Days) shining out from it describing an extraordinary Home based business that anyone could start for just $29.95 a month. They showed samples of their huge inventory, their 18 acre warehouse, and of course their huge success stories!

I've always said If it looks too good to be true, it probably is! But their presentation is highly motivating and for us that are trying to close the gap in our finances, it looks like a gift from God himself!

First mistake, I called for information! I get miss sweet Polly Purebread on the phone who tells me she not only works for SMC she is a home based dealer also! She tells me about all the money she makes in a few hours of work. What an oppurtunity for just $29.95 a month she says. Okay she has me hooked! Now she tells me I need to verify all this through her MANAGER!

This guy is hard sale transformer. He tells you how bad you want to make money and how soon you want to do it! Every guestion he asks even a moron would have to answer yes! They attack your attitude (Positive), Your self esteem, on and on. Then he tells you how to get on the fast track. This package he is going to show me has a website to sell on line, tons of catalogs, $200 worth of merchandise credit (which cost them 1/3^rd),

and gift cards (the soul lifeline of their business!) This will only cost me $595! After a few tense moments, he wants my decision, he won't give me any time to think about it! Its now or never! Call me stupid, I saw stars, and charged my credit card! November 4,2009

Now that the evil deed is done, I'm asking myself how fast I can make $600 or if I will live to spend it when my wife finds out what a stupid thing I did! Remember I did this to help her!

I waited 8 days ,Nov.12 for the kit to arrive. I started passing out catalogs right away. I was positive I could do this. That night I get a call from my Business Coach Seth. Along with you package you get a coach for 12 weeks, whose primary purpose is to sell. Sell, sell! He tells me the website as it is now will not generate the sales I need, so we need to upgrade it. HIS FIRST PACKAGE WAS ONLY $5000! After a long bit of discussion he said for only $395 he will give me another $100 merchandise credit and put me on this emerchant website. We argued and he started asking the yes only questions again! The last question he asked wasyou do want to make some money doing this, right? And when I said yes, he went off line and charged my credit card. I told him I wanted it removed right away and he said it was a one Time nonrefundable charge! I called back and asked to talk to a manager and they always referred me back to Seth!

Now I'm down $890!!! If you don't have a lot of Internet marketing knowledge, you don't have any idea what a piece of crap website they just sold you! The first website was a gift card only website. If you pass out 20 gift cards and 7 people use them, now you have 7 customers and have lost $$ because of the cost of the cards you bought! The upgrade was to make the website accessible to anyone and now you can use a credit card. But we found information that at one point SMC had 41,000 website exactly like these and search engines don't look at replicated sites! And from this point forward SMC will be trying to sell you more optimizers to get your site reccognized.

It didn't take many days for my family to get me see what was happening. I was being scammed! I returned my kit (November 19^th) which is suppose to have a 30 day money back policy, but I'm not sure about the $395 website charge. I called the credit card company and disputed both the charges. The charges will be held while in dispute, so there is no cash out of my pocket at this time other than the shipping charges to send back the Business Kit. ($38.95)

Saturday (Nov 22^nd) I checked my Credit card account and found that Smc had put another charge to my account. To be continued!!
