On 3/16/15 I traded a 2007 Acura TSX for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. I took the Jeep for a test drive and when I came back I explained that I heard a whining noise. Dan told me that it was the clutch and he took off money from the price of the Jeep so that I could get it replaced. I agreed and was told that everything was in working order.  I live about 2 1/2 hours from his dealership. About 1 1/2 hours on my way home the Jeep made a loud clunking noise and stopped. I called for a toe at around 10:00 pm and had them toe it to the closest repair shop.  I immediately called the dealership and left Dan a message. In the morning I spoke to the repair shop and it would take them a couple of days before they could get to look at my Jeep.

Once they were able to look at it I was told that the transmission was bad. The price they wanted to fix the transmission was more than what I thought it should be. So I called another repair shop in the area and had it toed to that shop(Elliston Auto Repair). I then called Dan and told him that it was the transmission and that I had it toed to a different repair shop.  He then proceeded to tell me that the Warranty Company would probably not pay for any of it.   He said that they usually find a way to not pay. Dan then told me he would have someone pick it up and take it back to his shop for the repairs. After thinking about it I didn't trust him or his mechanic since they obviously did see the problem in the first place. Dan told me he would have a clutch kit dropped shipped to the repair shop and he would send me a check for $500.00 if I would no longer make him responsible and if I, my family or friends did not post anything about him or his company.

I then received a call from the repair shop a couple of days later and they told me that the differential was also bad. He told me that the dealership should have caught this if they had done any kind of check out of the Jeep. He then told me that the transmission didn't have one drop of transmission fluid. I went and picked up the Jeep on 4/8/15 and the bill was $3802.90. Of course on my way home the warranty company called me and told me that they were not paying anything since it was a preexisting condition of the vehicle. In my opinion, he knew he was selling me a vehicle that was unsafe and he didn't even consider the fact that my son was in the Jeep with me.

Blackmailing is Illegal

AUTHOR: Dan Ryan - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, September 26, 2015

We would like to take this moment to respond to this review. First we ask that you read Kevin's review completely and keep in mind he purchased a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with 140 thousand miles on it. We did at initial sale take and additional 600 dollars off for a clutch unfortunately the jeep transmission went bad we can not know the internal components of a transmission nor how long they will last. We offered to tow it from Columbus and repair it for Free as Mr North states in his review he was provided a clutch and demanded 500 dollars to help but then proceeded to threaten to slander us with bad reviews so we did agree to pay him the 500 dollars if he sold sign a waiver no Sensible person would give someone 500 dollars only to have them defame you so we ask for a mutual agreement . Mr North agreed and we sent him the agreement, however he told me the 500 dollars wasn't enough and wanted all his repair money or negative reviews so we will not be blackmailed we did provide him with a new clutch and made several attempts to help him but he made a choice to Pay someone else instead of take it Free repair so we Unfortunately and Regrettably were unable to satisfy Mr north and ask you to read all our reviews and understand we are offering Used vehicles at Below Wholesale prices and make every effort to fix our customers problems if you have any questions please feel free to contact me personally. Thanks Dan
