Sonnenechein Financial Apparent Telemarketing Scam ripoff Mellville New York

A message was left on my answering machine from a man named "Paul" stating that I had won some prize. Since neither my girlfriend nor I EVER enter into any prize contests, I figured it was some kind of a scam.

The number that called me was (708) 539-2373. I did a reverse search on this number and it was based in Chicago Heights, IL with the carrier MPower Communications Corp.

I also Googled the above phone number and it came back with some links to the Ripoff Report website, along with some other links describing the message in detail. One link even had the entire message, word for word, as I had received it on my answering machine. Here is what the message says, for those who are curious if they have gotten the same message:

"Hi, this is Paul from the prize claim center. We have great news for you regarding the contest entry form you submitted to win a brand-new automobile. We pulled your ticket; you guys have actually won one of our top four major prizes, and it would be in your best interest to give us a call back as soon as possible. We can be reached at (877) 256-7894. Do not hesitate to give us a call back, folks. We have great news for you."

I have filed a report with www.donotcall.gov regarding the originating telephone number of (708) 539-2373 and the call-back number of (877) 256-7894. I am currently not pursuing this matter any further as it does not warrant the use of any more of my time.
