Southerland Auto Transport - MovingMyCar unprofessional, false advertising, a scam Anderson California

Contacted Southerland Auto Transport(MovingMyCar) for a quote to ship a truck from Gainesville, Fl, to Pacifica, CA. The quote was $809.00.

The amount must be paid in full before the order can be processed, so like a fool, I send a cashier's check for $809 via Priority Mail on April 2, 2003. It reached Southerland that Friday, April 4, 2003. This was confirmed via email from Jilda.

The pick-up date was April 13, 2003, and I am still waiting. Today is April 23, 2003. Numerous emails have been sent, phone calls have been made. The same answer, "We are process of locating a carrier."

Now we have been sternly directly by Jilda to call the "status line." We speak with Juanita, of whom we thought was on the ball. She has told us numerous times she is looking for a carrier.

Two days ago after several calls to her, she said she has a couple in Tallahassee, which is only 2 hours from our house, that have a 3-car rig and are going to Colorado. Our truck could probably go with them. She was to leave this couple a message and get back with us.

Well,you guessed it, we have had to call her each time only to hear, "I'll get right on it,and one time she said, she would get on it at 3PM Pacific time. We asked her to call us back after she spoke with this carrier.

My husband also said he would call the carrier, and Juanita said, "Let me do my job." This of course has not been done.

Juanita said her office closed at 5 PM Pacific time, so we started calling at 4:30, only to get an answering machine. We left a message every 10 minutes. These were not harrassing messages by any means; just let us know whether or not you plan on shipping the truck, or if we should get another carrier.

We still have not heard anything and will be calling in 1 hour, hoping to speak with Juanita, and not the answering machine.

My son is in Ca waiting for his truck. In the meantime, we have had to pay over $800 for a rental car because of the ineptness of this company. This is enough to ship the truck again.

There have been over 141 complaints since Dec 2002 to Jan 2003, according to the Better Business Bureau of Northeast Ca, and of course, the woman I spoke with said there have probably been many more since this was published.

The BBB says they update periodically. For a company to collect your money unfront and say the $200 in not refundable, is a company that knows consumers will get tied of waiting or get nasty with employees or the owner and get their contract terminated, thus affording the company of an easy $200.

This company must be shut down and fined and every consumer ripped-off should get their money back and then some.
