St. Elizabeth Hospital Urology Billing Tried to forced you to sign a patient agreement paying 30% late fee and legal fees on unpaid billings. Then failed to properly bill insurance company. Kentucky

I'll make this short I needed to visit a specialist at St. Elizabeth Physicians in Northern Kentucky.  The patient information form had a statement to the effect that you would be responsible for 30% late charge and attorney fees if you fail to pay a bill on time.  I refused to sign it and crossed out that information and initialed it. The billing department sent the bill to the wrong insurance company.  I gave them the proper information.  My spouse also needed to be seen for a condition with the same time doctor.  They sent the bill for my visit to the proper insurance company, but not my spouse.  They threatened me over the phone that I would owe 30% late charge and pay for attorney fees for the unpaid bill.  How rude !  I said they were incompetent because they did not check that I did not sign the agreement.  I believe this is illegal in my opinion.  An attorney should check into this.   The billing department was very rude.   They said  the time expired to file the claim but I personally filed claims over a year later and insurance paid. The front desk workers are also rude.  I have to say the doctor, who is a surgeon, is nice and was told about this occurring several times.
