This so-called higher class employment service agency claims to find you a perfect job fit if you are a seasoned professional.  However, they have you sign a document when you sign up for them to find you a job, that says if you do not complete an assignment they have the right to revert your pay to minimum wage.

They sent me on a horrible assignment with a first-time manager and I stayed two weeks.  I did a phenomenal job under the circumstances but one day was called in by the manager and reemed a new one.  I had had it.  I had spoken to Linda Clinard, the manager, at Staffing Now numerous times since I had started the assignment letting her know exactly what was going on and how unhappy I was.  She said I could leave if I wanted to but that the client liked me and had created a temporary agreement just for me and that if I left Staffing Now would lose the contract.
By the end of the second week, and after the meeting with the new manager, I couldn't take it anymore. I left Linda 3 messages (as I couldn't use my cell phone at work) and let her know I was not returning to the assignment.  She left me a voicemail on Friday saying she understood and hoped our relationship was not damaged and how much she wanted to work with me in the future.
When I got my paystub, however, for the week it was at 7.25/hr not 11.50/hr. A $4.00 deduction per hour!  She cited the document I had signed. I told her I understood that it was based on the assignment ending was not my fault and that she did not mention it when I spoke of getting off the assignment.
She stated that the only reason that they docked my pay was because the contract was based on me and that they were embarrassed that I left the assignment.  She also very rudely informed me that my relationship with Staffing Now was terminated.
I am appalled at such heartless behavior in these trying times when I did the best I could. I guess I should've quit the first day but I tried to stick it out because I need a job too.  Not having the money I was counting on and rightly earned and not having them as an employment service is abhorrent.

Randstad staffing agency also makes you sign the minimum wage agreement when you sign up.  They will not place you if you don't.

I probably did assignments for about 10 different staffing agencies while in college and I have never heard of an agency making you sign an agreement that you get minimum wage if you have to leave an assignment. Personally, I would not have signed the agreement.
