I received a letter with postmarkings from Canada (but no return address of course) with a letter claiming that I had one 200,000 dollars in a multi state lottery and a check for 3,860.40.   I knew this was bogus, but it seems craftier than your average " You May Have Already Won..." scams, so I figured I would post the entire text of the letter, hoping I can in some way help catch these jackasses.

We are pleased to inform you of the announcement today NOV 25,2009 winners of year end USA MEGAL MILLIONS/PCH draws(also known as "THE BIG GAME"), USA's biggest multi-state lottery. Entry LW-07-25-06 was attached to your name and drew the lucky numbers 7-27-42-49-52 Mega Ball is 19 and as a result matched 5(five) numbers in the second category for a $2900,00 prize (TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS) Congratulations for winning th sum of $200,000.  You will receive another check in a few days.



Your co-operatin is mandatory and seant to satisfy all official laws and protocol as mandated by Federal and State regulations on gambling winnings.



Since this is the final notice all prize money must be claimed no later than DEC 25, 2009.  Any claim not made before this date will be returned to the USA MEGA MILLION JACKPOT. Your prize has been insured to its total value and will be transferred when Int'l requirements are met. Legal and administrative fees have been financed with the enclosed check for.
