I received a call on July 10, 2006 from Morgan Chase Bank representative Mr. Nicholas Hughes. He indicated there were no products to sell, they would provide training tools and coaching to handle credit cards. I was being offered the opportunity and they needed an answer. They wanted to check my credit status. I asked that he call me the next day as I wanted to think about it. Keep stating I was the type of person they really needed and wanted.
Convinced me to sign a lease agreeing to work with Start Up Essentials. Had me sign a lease by computer. Did so but when I went to my saved lease, it was gone! I e-mailed Start Up asking for a copy. Never got a response.
All of a sudden the lease was given to A-1 Leasing LLC 2007 Eastern Ave S.E, Grand Rapids, MI 49507. My checking account in the name of ProCo Marketing, Inc. was being charged $127.89 plus $29.95 each month starting in August 2006. I eventually closed the checking account completly.
I have been attempting to negate this lease with A-1 Leasing as I have no need for the computer they sent to me, have never had a need for it and have returned it to Start Up Essentials with a cover letter asking that they return it to their leasing company. I sent it back by UPS with a return receipt requested and never got an acknowledgement back.
What was offered is different than what was described to me. I feel this was a sales scam in the way it was presented. I sent an e mail to the support department of Start Up Essentials asking for a copy of the lease sent to A-1 leasing and again, there has been no response to date.
I have sent Certified Return Receipt letters to A-1 Leasing, Start Up Essentials, to the Attorney Generals for the States of TX and MI and IL along with the same type of letters to the BBB of TX and MI and to the 3 main credit bureaus.
I have received dunning calls from A-1 Leasing stating that "You have signed a contract, you have to pay it out." When I told the caller I had sent the computer back and sent the letters out there was no comment. On the last call I received I told the individual that a Class Action suit was being prepared and he stated that it would be of no avail and they were going to send me to a Collection Agency.
The Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Dallas got a response from Start Up Essentials stating all the steps they follow in having someone sign up with them. It long and detailed but half of it never occurred as respects how I was signed up. I am attempting to join a Class Action lawsuit against these two firms.
