A salesman called me from a list of old customers (I bought a 1994 Toyota from this dealer). I told him I now had a 1996 Toyota and I had 15,000 miles left on my extended warranty and I would be ready for a 1998 Toyota when that was up. I told him exactly what I wanted down to the car payments and who to finance. He said he would look.

He called and said he had 3 cars that matched what I wanted.
I said I would come and look. After I got there I waited about 3
hours until he came and took me to look at the cars, there were no cars as I had wanted. Finally, for figuring purposes, I picked a silver, which turned out to be a 1999.

In his office I found out he had already called and found out what my payoff was and everything about me. He took the figures to the manager. When he came back he said he would need more money, I said then find me a 1998 car, i can wait. He then said wait, and left, he then came back and said, they are calling around to get more for your car.

Finally, after 4 hours of being there, he came back and said lets go do the paperwork. We went into a room I had told everyone, I had it and I was very tired. They gave me the end of a contract said sign here and yanked the document from me, I did not see what I signed nor was I allowed to read the document nor was I given a copy to take home to read. Then they gave me a script and told me to follow the script if anyone from Toyota called.

The service person asked how I liked my new car and took a picture of the new car etc. The papers came 13 days later, I had signed a lease for 60 months and after 12,000 miles I would have to pay 10 cents a mile.

I originally informed the salesman, I drove over 25,000 miles a year. I called Sterling and they hired an attorney and therefore, have never addressed the problem. On the lease they gave me no credit for my 1996 car, and no equity. They just took the car.
