Stuart Rose Heating and Air charged more than $1500 to repair heat/ac known to be defective Agoura Hills, California

Last winter our 12 year old Lennox heater/ac/water system repeatedly failed. We called original installer Stuart Rose Heating and Air to fix the integral water heater, and with each service call averaging $400 we decided to call Lennox manufacturer. We explained that we had, based upon Stuart Rose repairman's suggestion (or sales pitch?) ordered an extra spare part because the part was discontinued qnd we would want to insure a longer term useful life of system. we ordered the redundant part from Stuart Rose and left it untouched in its original box ($375).

after the third failed repair, dealing with weeks at a time of no hot water and no heat, we called Lennox manufacturer. lennox said that after three years they realized that they were marketing a lemon and discontinued manufacture. later, .stuart rose repair people revealed that when they initiated repair it was known by Stuart Rose company that repair would be fruitless. we called the Lennox distributor and asked to return the spare part and they were willing to do this through Stuart Rose, but after two appeals, Stuart Rose refused to accept the part back. a licensed zlennox dealer was willing to ship me the same OEM part for $100 somrip,off felt worse.

Finally after the third repair, Stuart Rose offered to replace justmthe heater and air for more than $10,000. fool me three times and Imtold their staff that I would report the story on the internet and would replace all three components with another installer and manufacturer.

Moral- dont feed an expensive home appliance that is out of warranty. never repair an expensive appliance more than once without calling the manufacturers customer service to find out if it recognized as a lemon.

lastly, consider our substatiateable Stuart Rose story before considering home heating purchase and repair.
