I was hired by this company about a month ago after a four minute phone conversation telling me about all the opportunities to make "BIG BUCKS" and telling me about obscene cash incentives I of coarse agreed to take on this employment opportunity.
They promise you 4-6 "appointments" per day, the first day I worked the leads seemed to be somewhat what they were made out to be... the first claimed that she thought I was supposed to be there on behalf of her current processing company. The second wasn't interested in changing companies whatsoever and the third was set up with a man who wasn't even in charge of these decisions.
When I accepted employment with this company they also promised that each meeting was to be screened in a way that each company would be interested in a new processing company among others. After over one hundred appointments for this company not one of the leads was actually interested in changing services, not one company knew why I was actually there, and finally not one company actually changed services meaning that one month worth of salaries were wasted from this con artist company.
If you were contacted because this company came across your resume, and you accept employment you will be strongly effed over.
DONT DO IT!!!

For anyone who is reading this report, notice that it was written in November 2008, nearly a year ago.
Our appointment setters draw from a database of more than 8 million active records, as well as from phone directories throughout the country. They are clearly instructed to speak only with owners of real businesses, and not to make an appointment unless the owner specifically agrees to it. Every call is recorded, then confirmed, reviewed and approved by a quality assurance team. If it isnt clear that the owner understands the appointment and is ready for it, the sales rep doesnt get sent.
Appointment setters do NOT screen merchants to determine if they are ready to change processors, as Fisherrj claims. The merchant agrees to meet, but its up to the salesperson to show the value of our products and services. It sounds a bit like Fisherrj expected to simply walk in, get a signature and collect the commission.
Anytime I hear a comment about bad appointments, I always ask the same question: Why would we set bad appointments on purpose? We have more than 100,000 active accounts, and we certainly havent achieved that level of success by sending reps on bogus appointments. It makes no sense.
Im not sure why Fisherrj ran into problems. Its impossible to believe that over one hundred appointments were ALL bad leads. Its also difficult to imagine any salesperson going on 100 appointments without making a sale. As the old saying goes: Even a blind squirrel is bound to find an acorn eventually.

The Members Group

We are providing information about The Members Group for clarity about our company. While the original report is dated, we want to make sure that The Members Group has a clear name on the Rip Off Report site as we are unrelated to the situation described in the original report.
The Members Group, of Des Moines, Iowa, is not affiliated with Summit Merchant Solutions or any of the affiliated companies to Summit Merchant Solutions.
The Members Group is a financial services organization dedicated to providing solutions to credit unions and financial institutions. The Members Group does not directly provide products or services to merchants. The Members Group has a small staff of sales professionals that only work directly with financial institutions.
Our initials "TMG" are the same as one of Summit Merchant Solutions' affiliates, TransTech Merchant Group (TMG). TransTech Merchant Group, and their contract sales employees, typically use "TMG" without "TransTech Merchant Group" in their marketing and communications.
An Internet search for "TMG" will generally bring up The Members Group and typically does not show TransTech Merchant Group in the first page of results. The Members Group has seen several examples of confusion between our two companies since 2008 by TransTech's contract sales employees and the merchants that they call on.
You may find additional information about TransTech Merchant Group by visiting their website at www.transtechmg.com which redirects to www.cpphr.com. Certified Payment Processing is another affiliate of TransTech Merchant Group and Summit Merchant Solutions.
