This company makes you think you can try the Acai Berry thing free, if you just pay for shipping, $4.95.

Then, they give you 15 days from the date of your order to cancel, use postal service tracking numbers, and on the 16th day, charge you $78.00, per month.

When I called I was told all this was in the terms and conditions, and that all they needed to prove was that they had my IP address to verify I had placed the order.

I can return the unopened bottle, for a 25% 'restocking fee.' At the very least, they are making $25 off every person who falls for this, for absolutely nothing.

Live and learn, don't ever fall for the free trial, or anything similar. They want your credit card information, and then bury consents to charge additional amounts in tiny print in the terms and conditions.

Now I'm worried that they will charge this amount again and again, I won't be able to do anything about it.

Dear Scmf,

I do not understand your complaint - what you stated is exactly what we are offering:

"This company makes you think you can try the Acai Berry thing free, if you just pay for shipping, $4.95.

Then, they give you 15 days from the date of your order to cancel, use postal service tracking numbers, and on the 16th day, charge you $78.00, per month."

You CAN try our Vital Acai for only $4.95 shipping and handling fees - the key word here is "try," which is why we are offering a "free trial" and not a "free sample."

When you ordered from us customers had 15 days from the date their item was ordered (now it is from the date that it is shipped) to try the product and determine if it was right for them; if they were unhappy they just needed to call our customer support hot-line and have the account closed within the trial period.

As long as the account was closed within the 15-day trial period, the customer would not be billed or shipped anything else. If the customer chooses to keep the shipment and leaves their account open, at the end of the 15-days they were billed $78.91 for the shipment they received.

We are offering a "good faith" trial to give customers an oppurtunity to see if our products meet their expectations before they are billed - however, many persons have taken this as an oppurtunity to get a "free botle" of product. So they sign up for our trial without reading the terms and conditions believing they are just getting a free month of product without any conditions; unfortunately, they agreed to our terms and conditions when they submitted their order without realizing this.

At the time you signed up for the trial we did have a 25% restocking fee if customers wish to return unopened shipments - if you tried the product and didn't like it and had your account cancled before the trial was up, you would not be billed anything else so you would not need to get refunded. It does cost money to issue refunds and process returns which is why this restocking fee was in place (we have updated our return/refund policies since this time).

We have no reason to wish to bill you repeatedly if you do not want our products; all you have to do is call our 24/7 customer service hot-line at (866) 899-9006 and have your account closed. You will be sent an email confirmation so you have proof for your records.
