Rebate requested for purchase through TigerDirect.com. This is all managed through the owning company SysteMax (SYX.XOM)...aka '4myreabte.com'.  All paperwork was submitted in accordance with instructions.  Additonally, the "Rapid Rebate" option was purchased for approx. 10% of the rebate amount (Rebate = $100, fee is approx. $10). follow up call weeks later revealed the paperwork was "never received".   All paperwork was re-submitted, excep teh Proof of Purchase code which wass physically cut from teh product and mailed with hte original lrebate request.  Naturally this could not be reproduced or re-sent, as we had already sent the original. Two months later, despite selecting the Rapid Rebate option, they will neither acknowledge receipt of the paperwork nor reply to emails.  Of course no money has been received either.  Please feel free to contact me to aid in pursuit of class action litigation against SYX.com.  See the case already prosecuted (http://www.wikinvest.com/stock/Systemax_(SYX)/Litigation). This company is as bad as they get, and should no longer be permitted to operate.

#6 Consumer Suggestion

They've been doing this for years...

AUTHOR: B - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 28, 2012

Here's the way it goes:
TigerDirect buys or starts rebate "fulfillment" companies that intentionally don't pay on some high double digit percentage of submitted rebates.  Then they wait for you to complain sit on hold for up to 45 minutes per call -- multiple calls.  Then, they finally get you in touch with someone who arranges to pay your rebate.  That allows them to not pay enough to make this very profitable.

I actually went through this a couple years back.  I ended up calling TigerDirect's corporate office and was connected with a VP who screamed at me "Tiger Direct is Great!".  I laughed quietly since I wanted to see if I could get paid on the rebate.  They paid by wire to a bank account.  I setup a special bank account for this fiasco since I heard stories about them pulling money back after paying.  I did get paid.  I spent over 4 hours on phone calls and more time on here and keeping files on everything.

I don't agree with that VPs statement on the company.  They change out the rebate companies every year or so to keep people from finding them on here.  So, 4myrebate is probably going to go away soon enough.

For the few dollars you'll save, I hope you go shop somewhere else.  I do not work for any retail vendor of anything or any company that competes with Tiger Direct.

I still have my files and can document every last bit of this.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tigerdirect

AUTHOR: Extigeremployee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2011

I'm an ex-employee of Tigerdirect.com and I'm glad that a customer is finally taking this type of action and motivating others in taking part. Tigerdirect will know who I am after I'm done typing here. They've shut down sites and/or made site owners, who's sites were anti-tigerdirect, online partners and now have their anti-tigerdirect sites redirect people to tigerdirect.com, where I've voiced myself through and I'd like to think that I was responsible for making them jump the way they have. Example, tigerdirectsucks.com was a very angry client from Canada and the site now belongs to tigerdirect. I worked for tigerdirect for about 5 years and regret most of my time there. They are shady and a company full of bad practices. Some think tigerdirect should of been shut down long ago, but 3 brothers who own/run the company, attorneys, they know the loops and what not. They rip people off not only on the outside, but have ripped their employees off as well.

Yes, they have a horrible way of working their rebates. Before I left, they had started the rebate program. I believe it was OnRebate.com. Prior to launching this program, I remember them pulling us in groups to meetings explaining the OnRebate.com program and making sure we were aware that we were not to tell anyone on the phones that OnRebate.com and Tigerdirect were the same and/or in the same building, which they were in the same room with sales. I remember colleagues who were recruited to that department would tell us how crooked it was. How they would be told at the beginning of one week to approve all rebate forms and the next week they would be instructed to decline all rebates forms, of coarse including the ones that were properly filled out and qualified for it. I also remember finding on the internet a legal issue about Tigerdirect reporting rebate funds as company profit in order to help the stock prices.

I'm glad you are taking action against them and I hope they get what they long have deserved.

Requested info

AUTHOR: deraeler - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Obviously only a limited amount of information can be posted publicly, but I'm sticking my neck out here. Of course this info should be available for your review through your company.  Only after posting here (RipoffReport.com), filing a complaint with the DTC, emailing up to the managerial level with both Systemax and Tigerdirect.com, and preparing litigation and picket action has this response appeared here.  If you're so sorry to hear about my case, why don't you respond to the thousands of cases out there in kind?   Why don't you take some meaningful action, like making amends for the time and frustration you've casued us, let alone paying the money we're owed!  It took this much time, effort and aggravation in order to simply get my rebate "approved".  However, it should be noted that the link emailed to me in my "approval" notice doesn't work - no trace of my claim can be found on the tracking site (https://4myrebate.com/).  Entering my Tracking ID on the https://4myrebate.com/ tracking site yields only error messages stating "no claim found matching search criteria".  Note - this is AFTER it has allegedly been "approved"!  We'll see if I actually recieve a rebate.  You want my info?  Go to the site and enter tracking ID 1564136315151745, Zip code 14004.  (This is for offer code TD-5253, although the site doesn't request this info).  So now that I've posted this info here, you'll probably enable the claim, and everyone who reads this will be able to see when my rebate ships and of course come and steal it.   So now I've given you your way out, since you can claim somebody stole my rebate using this information....  but frankly I"m just dying to know what you'll do with this info.  Let's see if you have any concept of what customer service really means.

I continue to welcome other's info interested in pursuing class action litigation, this is inexcusable business practice.  While it's unlikely we'll be able to sustain a legal battle given the cost, the more people are empowerd, the greater the likelihood of success.  Add your voice!

tigerdirect.com

POSTED: Friday, August 26, 2011

First, corrections to my first post (some due to lack of a spell check):

The offending companies committing the fraudulent behavior are 4myrebate.com, syx.com and tigerdirect.com.

Second, as tigerdirect.com actually offered this rebate, it's their name that should be showing up in the web searches.  You'll never see or search for syx.com, or 4myrebate.com, or systemax.com.  Althouth they are the parent company, what you should see is tigerdirect.com. Think twice before doing any business with tigerdirect.com.

Queries regarding Class Action litigation are welcome.
Picket action is being organzied in Miami at the Systemax office location, your support is encouraged and welcomed.
