I opened my january phone bill, which is drafted from my checking account every month, on thursday february 19th 2015 and right away I noticed a charge for a higher amount than what I normally pay every month for windstream's bundle package, which includes high speed internet,unlimited phone,and digital tv, I've been very content for many years with Windstream, and have no reason to change phone service providers. I called Windstream to find out what was going on, and was informed that I had changed providers, and that those extra charges were from TELE CIRCUIT CORP.,my new provider, I became irate and immediately questioned how something like this could happen without my consent, I being the only authorized person on my account, windstream responded with, well someone in your household must've given the ok!, I quickly added, why would I want to pay for service that I'm already receiving for a whole lot less money? Windstream went on to tell me they would provide me with TELE CIRCUIT CORP'S phone number, and that I should call them up, and ask them to remove my name from TELE CIRCUITS CORPS account, I was given credit by Windstream for the extra charges, but was told that TELE CIRCUIT CORP might continue charging me. I called TELE CIRCUIT CORP, and questioned who authorized them to change my phone service provider, I was told by a female named Ms. sharon, extension#4460 that a person by the name of Ana Roman agreed on December 14th. 2014, for the change, I told them there is no Ana Roman living here, and to cancel any future service immediately!! Ms. Sharon went on to tell me that I would not be held liable for the charges, and she even gave me a cancelation confirmation # 7025, but that she would have to speak with her supervisor to approve it, and she would call me back around 6pm. on the same day Friday, 2/20/2015, I waited, and waited, and no one ever called back. The same evening I went on the web to check out their business practice, and found that they have a long track record of complaints against them going back many years, pulling the same scam on "JOE PUBLIC" I was told by Windstream that a block would be installed on my account to prevent this from ever happening again, but that there was nothing they could do about TELE CIRCUIT CORP, from continuing to charge me, or for this same thing ever happening again. I believe that the major phone providers should get a notarized statement from their client, before they go ahead and make any changes to an existing account. I want to congratulate, and thank in advance, the RIPOFF REPORT agency for their help in exposing, and helping to eliminate, this ripoff scam.
