Telecheck, TRS, Inc., is harassing me for money I do not owe them. They have made a huge mistake that is costing me $100. I went shopping at Wal-Mart and presented my check. For whatever reason, the check machine would not work right. I got my check handed back to me with a slip that said my check was not used and my account was not charged. Well, I began getting calls from Telecheck saying my check to Wal-Mart bounced. Of course I did not have a check at Wal-Mart, being that I did not get any merchandise. I have been to Wal-Mart and been presented paperwork showing that Wal-mart received no money for that transaction, yet Telecheck wanted me to pay them for it, not once but twice!!! Telecheck ran it through AGAIN costing me another $35 for a total of $70 that my bank wants back for the NSF charges. Telecheck wants $18.63, plus $80. No one at this company will listen to me on this and they will not do what they need to do to end this. They just want me to pay them off. And I will NOT do that!!! I wish some one out there could help me on what to do to get this resolved and to stop Telecheck from harassing me.

DOCUMENTATION DOESN'T MATTER

I just wanted to add, that because of telechecks practices that I now have a judgement on my credit report. My ex bounced a check at Sheetz, we paid it and whatever fees they were due, then they put the check so many times at my bank that we incurred charges of over $300. After I found out what company had done this I called and was deferred back to my bank who was of no help, they insisted that this company put the check through at least 8-10 times, they would need this company to confirm that this is what happened and it was a computer error. Telecheck then went on to tell me that they needed documentation of this because they do not put checks through more than once. YOu can guess that I did what they wanted. I spend four months dealing with this before the bank put in the courts. I was a single mother by this time and could not afford the money they wanted and my ex would not pay up to help, so now I have a judgement because of this companies devious ways and unwillingness to do to the right thing. If I had the money to get an attorney back then I would have, these charges were bogus.

There is a way to file a DISPUTE with Telecheck!! Since "services" were not rendered then you are able to file a dispute for the returned check. Unfortunately the way the company HAS to opperate they can not just "take your word for it" Documentation will have to be provided. There is a way to get this resolved with out paying it!!

Have you tried going and talking to the manager of Walmart???? Take in your bank statement showing the charge, and the receipt showing that you were notified you were not going to be charged, and let Walmart know. Telecheck just doesn't get stuff reported to them for nothing....it was walmart's fault in the first place for sending the transaction thru and not voiding it out completely.
I've actually had this happen to me...thank goodness I know how the system works, and didn't just blame telecheck...
