Me and my wife decided to go to the roomstore to purchase a bed for our daugther and as we were looking for furniture, i inquired about the in house financing. we applied but were decline due to us just purchasing a house. Our credit was locked for a month is what our realtor said. the sales lady turned us to jason dice, the salesman for the rental store which was inside the roomstore. he informed us what type of financing they do, and we agreed to the 3 month same as cash. it took awhile for me to convince my wife and jason was standing right there in front of us agreeing with me. we filled out paperwork and i remember my wife asking specifically which address we needed to put since we just moved to the new house. jason said to put the address where the furniture was going. all in all we paid $2300.00 for the furniture. while the lady was tallying the total, she was adjusting the price higher so we could get a higher rebate but told her we didnt want it, we settled for the $200.00 rebate.

almost 3 months later i came in to pay off balance and jason told me we did not get approved for the 3 month same as cash. he basically lied to my face, and i cant do anything about it cause i sign the papers with the new address, but he never stated we didnt get approved at the time we bought it. he is a liar and made $900.00 in interest on top of the $2300.00 we paid for the furniture. I never in would have purchased $2300.00 in furniture and pay $900.00 in interest for 3 months. the rebate that we were suppose to get for $200.00 never came. and sealy says that we dont get a rebate cause we did a rent to own.

The big issue

AUTHOR: Cooburns - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 06, 2010
I believe that when your purchasing something well into the thousands you ask and ask again. I'm sure some place in the paper work it stated you would owe interest. I find it odd however that no one told you that you didn't get approved. Why would they deliver the product if it wasn't paid for? Odd. I rebates can take something like 8 weeks to get to you. Don't sound like you were ripped off it just sounds like all the ducks were out of whack and maybe some information was crossed. Better luck next time.

federal lease contracts

AUTHOR: Hush - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, May 18, 2009

I have personally done business with Jason inside of the Roomstore. And have also had a 90 SAC and a normal lease contract. I for one would like to say that the LEASE rate is pretty high but with that being said, they do what they say. They report to the credit bureau and it hs helped me tremendously. I have both copies of my contracts and BOTH OF THEM clearly state the terms of the contract. With a 90 SAC contract you receive a sheet that states that you have until a specific date to pay off your full balance or else it will default. That sheet is located at the back of the contract and it does require a signature on the back to clarify that you understood the terms to that agreement. Now regardless of which one you were approved of, both contracts are laid out with the normal terms of the contract, which is the 24 month federal consumer lease. If you had paid any attention while going over your contracts, you would have noticed that there was nothing stating it was a 90 SAC contract, so why would you think you had a 90 SAC contract? They also make you sign a cash option chart. It states what your pay off amounts are after every payment. Everything requires a signature. You as the consumer should be going over the terms of any contract you sign, because once you sign it, thats it. You are now responsible for what you signed for. With all that being said... you were the one at fault. If i was not clear about a contract, I would be asking questions.

Furniture Purchase

AUTHOR: Operations Manager - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 25, 2009

The Rental Store, Inc. (TRS) has provided an alternative purchase program since 1983. We work with customers who do not have the ability to pay cash or have financing to purchase home furnishing.

Our consumer lease programs give our customers the ability to purchase the merchandise at any time during the term. We do offer a 90 same as cash program at some of our locations, but we have requirements for approval that must be met. The lease and cash option paperwork is very straight forward in showing the amounts a customer would pay for the merchandise. This customer did not qualify for the 90 same as cash option and our lease clearly shows the cost to purchase the product.

Lastly, we have contacted the dealer and we were informed a $200.00 rebate check was sent to the customer. If you have not received the rebate please contact customer service at the store where the merchandise was purchased.
