On 8-12-2005, I paid Mr. Chuck Vaughn DBA The Balloon Man $250 required prepayment for a hot air balloon ride. Mr. Vaughn advertises on the internet and in the Jacksonville Yellow Pages that he provides this service under the business name of The Balloon Man.
Since paying Mr Vaughn, I have contacted him over a dozen times to schedule my ride. I have on 2 occasions requested a refund of my money if he is not going to give me the ride.
Mr. Vaughn contends that either the weather is never right (this is FLORIDA!!) or that there are not enough riders for a flight. Mr. Vaughn is arrogant enough to tell me I need to have more patience. It has been 2 YEARS and I have yet to receive my ride nor a refund of my noney
I have checked with the Small Claims Court and this business has several lawsuits against it for the very same thing.
BEWARE--DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

It's good (sort of) to see I'm in fine company to have been included in the hoards of people ripped off by Chuck Vaughn, who - at this point - I suspect does not even HAVE a balloon! I was ripped off for $450 back in 2008 with the same (lack of) results that you had; that is, nada. I took him to Small Claims (to no avail) and complained to Consumer Services and the BBB, neither of whom contacted me in response. Small Claims ruled against ME!! I've never heard of the "Ripoff Report" before, but added my submission to it today, and am told it will show up there in a "couple of hours". Should you find a remedy, let me know, it still irks me to no end.
