The Learning Annex - Dr Lowry use fraud and "bait and switch tactics" to sell information. Do not buy Lowry workshop and expect to actually be trained by him or even anyone from his company! New York, New York

I attended the Learning Annex in Vancouver BC. Upon hearing various speakers present their sales pitches, Dr Lowry seemed like the only one that actually offered the solid training, that I was looking for. Upon, buying the "Lowry" course on Auctions and Foreclosure($1295CDN), and having read through the material, I was looking forward to hearing Dr. Lowry speak at the 3 day workshop that I had taken off work to attend. Upon arrival to the course, we where told that his wife was sick and could not make it.

What?? Then on the 2nd day, I was told that he doesn't teach anymore and he is getting too old for the workshops??? Why the lies and the half truths? Instead of being taught the material, that was promised, we had someone from IAI teaching on completely different subjects of real estate. This was a "bait and switch."

At the Learning Annex Expo, I did not want to be involved in the Don Burnham program or IAI. I wanted the Lowry Training Workshop. Included with my course materials was a pamplet, that described all the things that would be covered in the Lowry workshop and most of these topics were not covered in the IAI workshop. There was literally a 80+ Topics that were supposed to be covered according to the description of why this course was so great. When Dr Lowry mentioned that he would show his students how to write off this course/seminar, thats when I committed. I am extremely disappointed because I bought this package to learn about Auctions and Foreclosures and did not receive the correct workshop.

The Don Burnham / IAI workshop was all based around selling even more training. The cheapest training was $8000 and the most expensive training was $50000. The class content was about 60% "just do it"and "just trust us" coaching and 40% quickly skimming over the basic investing topics. The info is delivered in wa y that only wets your appetite and then quickly moves on. When questions were asked, short answers were given due to "Time constraints." Funny, that we were let out early though??! Other staff at IAI training all smiles and cheerful, but when asking for advice, more often than not, the topic was changed, just like politicians!! No indepth training on any subject was done, just enough to promote the "advanced training."

They are basically selling you an "expensive bucket with holes" at the Expo, and then telling you "if you want to use the bucket, then you have to buy fifty $1000 corks to be able make it work."

I was mislead. If the Learning Annex doesn't want to get a bad name in a hurry, they should have called the Lowry students and asked them if a substitution would be acceptable. People are paying a hefty price to not be trained in the package they bought. They make it sound at the annex that the value is really in the hands on workshop. If I knew that I could have paid $995 for the IAI training, then why did I pay $300 more than that(1295)? I asked about the info, about being able to write off the course, as Dr Lowry promised, and they didn't know anything about it! Does the Learning Annex and Dr Lowry really believe that the Word won't get out about these Lies?? These said companies are shady and should be avoided. Let friends know about these posts before they attend learning annex seminars. RIP OFF!!
