The travel academy basically really only focuses on flight attendant training and is very very basic, airport codes, geography, some saftey ect. What they really teach is how to dress for success and how to interview. If you are wanting to become a travel agent i would search elsewhere. They teach you flight attendant training for about 4 days a week and travel agent related training for maybe 1 day out of the week and you have to endure the flight attendant training because it is part of the committment and course, therefore your interest level drastically dips because your simply not interested in the flight attendant line of work.
The teachers are nice but they really push you to recruit others for the programm. it seems like it is all about the money and not about your education. They had a real issue with housing but i think they have resolved that with the move to Eagan MN. Jackie who is a administer/counselor is very sweet and always ready to listen. PLEASE PLEASE do not fall for the Home Based Travel Agent they push on you unless you have a ready supply of clientel. Nobody wants to pay for air/hotel/car and then pay a service fee on top of it. people use you for the info and then go to orbitz/travelocity and anywhere else to book it themselves. those are what i call soul suckers! they steal the info you've given them. Even your best friends will do it to save a buck. If your looking to become a travel agent find something that entirely focuses on that and you won't regret it. don't waste $7000 dollars on a half-assed education from this place. Hope this helped

We apologize that you were not satisfied with your experience at The Travel Academy. Student satisfaction is our first priority, and we pride ourselves on consistently delivering the best travel career training and placement services in the industry.
To your concern that the travel agent portion of the program was minimal, nothing could be further from the truth. Our curriculum is well balanced in the four areas we focus on- flight attendant, travel agent, cruise line, and airport. When students graduate from The Travel Academy, they are fully prepared to begin successful careers in any of these areas. Furthermore, each part of our program supports the others. This well-rounded approach to training has helped thousands of people start new travel careers. Please look at thetravelacademy.com/graduates to see just some of these graduates. Also please feel free to look at thetravelacademy.com/about-us/testimonials to hear what graduates are saying about our program, as well as our A+ ranking from the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org/minnesota/business-reviews/travel-and-tourism-development-and-education/the-travel-academy-in-eagan-mn-23000999.
We have recently added even more material to our already comprehensive travel agent curriculum. Moreover, we are continually contacted by travel agencies who want to recruit our students, especially because of the recent increased demand for travel agents. On just Monday of this week (March 16th, 2015), we had a recruiter from Celtic Journeys visit our school to give a presentation and recruit our students.
We hope this post serves to alleviate any concerns you have about The Travel Academy. If there is anything else we can do to help, please don’t hesitate to contact us by visiting this page: thetravelacademy.com/contact.
