Their numbers are Rebecca Wilson 770-374-7558 and Thomas Warner 770-572-5309. Once I had the Greendot Money Pak, they were to call me back and I was supposed to give them the activation code, so they supposedly could verify the funds first. I questioned them about this because it sounded like they are wanting me to pay for the Title Search, before I even have a signed Offer in Hand. They told me that the activation code on the Receipt was not the same as the activation code on the back of the card and so there is no way they can get the funds. They said that after the funds for the Title Search were verified, I would be sent the Offer with the check and after the check cleared, then I would send them the card, but be sure NOT to scratch off the code on the back of the card.

This got my suspicions up and so I called Southern Land Investments and Real Estate, in Florida and they said they did not have a Georgia Office. I also called Greendot ad they told me that the activation number on the receipt is the activation code on the back of the card. So this is a definate SCAM!!

I immediately called the police. The officer patiently took my statement and then asked me if I had lost any money. I told him no, but I wanted to make sure no one else does either and this was why I was reporting it. I told them that the man claiming to be Thomas Warner, from Southern Land Investments and Real Estate is supoposed to be calling me back on a conference call with the Title Company to request my activation code and so we could set up a sting or some way to catch them.  The Police Officer then said it would be best for me to not give them my Activation Code and then tell them I am not interested. Of course I am not going to give them the code, but why aren't they interested in catching the Scammers!!!

"why aren't they interested in catching the Scammers!!!  "

Good question.   The answer is that neither you nor anyone else knows who or where the scammers are.   Most likely they are operating from outside the country, specifically so that law enforcement cannot touch them.

"Thomas Warner, from Southern Land Investments and Real Estate is supoposed to be calling me back on a conference call with the Title Company to request my activation code and so we could set up a sting or some way to catch them "

You've been watching too many movies.   Put your amateur detective skills to work on this problem.   What sort of "sting or some way to catch them" did you have in mind?   Scammers know their business, they are not going to call from their home phone.  They will likely use either a throwaway cell phone or an Internet phone connection.  That will narrow the search down to somewhere on planet earth.  Where do you go from there?

Your local police have no interest in this because they know that there is no chance of catching these scammers.   They specifically use Green Dot, Western Union and Moneygram transfers because the cash can be accessed from anywhere in the world without leaving a paper trail.  Even if you were to pay them, neither you, nor the police are going to find out where these scammers are, much less who they are.
