I purchased a 1995 Honda from Mr. Marcus McMillan in September of 2004. The Title came back 'Salvage' so I contacted him and he gave me the run-around an entire month before finally deciding to give me my money back.
But when it came time for him to do so, he swore he couldn't because all his money was tied up in the cars he'd purchased to sell. He asked me would I accept a 1996 or 1997 Volvo Wagon instead, as it was worth more (about $300, he claimed) than the Honda--which turned out to be not true at all.
Anyhow, he told me that if the Volvo caused me any problems within 6 months of the trade, he'd take it back, give me my $900
back, and that would be the end of it.
Well, as you may have guessed, the Volvo caused me major probs-- in fact, it stopped running entirely, and when I contacted Mr. McMillan re: this, he beat around the bush until he got me off the phone, and after that he never responded to my calls nor my emails nor my written pleas to him.
I would advise anyone in her/his right mind not to purchase a vehicle from this unscrupulous man--who, by the way, graduated from Piedmont Bible College and professes to be a 'Christian'-- just take your money and find Joel of Yadkinville, get a used car from him. He tells you if there's anything wrong with his cars, and while he sells them 'as is', I bought a 1999 white Mitsubishi Mirage from him and have had no serious probs with it, only that I have to start it in Neutral sometimes. Joel works for Josten's Yearbook in Winston-Salem and won't try to crap you the way Mr. Marcus McMillan crapped me. But never again... in fact, I plan to post warning signs about Thoroughbred Auto Brokers all around Forsyth County so that no one else will be taken in the way I was in 2004.

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds
Grossly inaccurate report
AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, January 26, 2010
I came across this report written by a customer of mine and was kind of surprised, (but then again should not have been surprised) that she went to the trouble to attempt to impugne my character. In a nutshell:
I sold her a 1985 Accord (not a 1995).
It was indeed a salvage vehicle but not known to me. This was a car that slipped hrough a major dealership with a clean car fax, was a one owner with the original title and was declared by original owner to have never been wrecked. Nontheless when customer received newly issued title it was branded as salvage. This customer turned very belligerent when I told her that I would need to verify that the car was indeed salvaged and that I would also need to talk to the dealer that I got the car from so that I could be reimbursed for the car also. Anyway, to make a long story short, I had a Volvo wagon (a 1990 model, not a 1996) that I told her I would offer to her on trade along with $200 cash to cover her expenses in getting the Volvo tagged. This Volvo was old with a ton of miles but was the car I preferred to use for work at around that time. I NEVER told her anything about taking the car back if there were any problems with it. In fact I don't remember receiving any additional emails from this lady(she always emailed, never called).
To summarize:
I was the one that had to initiate all contact by phone. She had a threatening tone in every one of her emails.
I'll be nice and just say she left out some important details of the business transaction.
I feel I was very reasonable and bent over backwards to try to accomodate her.
Mark
