A collie pup we purchased, was diagnosed with a low autoimmune system disease resulting in generalized demodectic mange ( mites) within 2 weeks after her purchase.  The Breeder was contacted via e-mail.  She did not respond until the 4th email of communication informing me that another pup also had this mange. In the meantime, I discovered that she had put the pups' Dam up for sale without notifying any of us that she was the carrier of the low auto immune system that some of her pups were stricken with.  We called her and told her we were bringing the pup back.  She suggested we put her down.  We refused.  She said we could bring her back, BUT she did not have the money at this time to refund the purchase price. She could possibly have half the money in a week with the remainder 2 weeks after that. We felt she had already been dishonest with the non-disclosure of the Dam's autoimmune system problem and believed it was not in our best interest to return the pup without our purchase price refunded at that time.  We purchased in good faith what we thought was a healthy pup at full asking price, but instead got a very sick one.  Her Vet bills in the past 4 months total $1057.85 with another 2-4 months of treatment remaining.  There is no guarantee that she can beat this since her case is so severe. A recent contact with the breeder asking once again for financial help has been ignored.
