I joined Timber Lodge RV Resort, Inc. in the spring of 2007.  Their annual membership dues seems very reasonably priced, but a good price does not make up for "no customer service" and "poor record keeping practices".

I received a bill last spring to renew my membership.  I sent in the required payment and have not received my new membership card yet.  My membership expires 12/31/2009.  I have called repeatedly to speak to someone regarding this matter, but I am still waiting to receive a return call.

In all fairness though, I must admit that as a last resort, today I sent an email to admin@timberlodgerv.com and they responded today with an answer to my email inquiry.  I figured if they were responding to my email, there might be a slim chance they would answer their phone if I called again.  No such luck, it seems their answering machine is just a screening device.  I don't like answering machines and I think companies that use them to screen calls are not providing the customer service that is satisfactory.  Their email indicated they had no record of having received my payment.  It is possible, but it seems highly unlikely that my payment was lost in the mail.  I will research my bank records and if I find they processed my check, I will file another complaint.

I trust they will respond to my not overly harsh evaluation of the service that I pay for.  If they are going to be in the customer service business and expect to be paid for it, they MUST PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE.  If they are short handed and need help, I will volunteer for free for a thirty day trial period.  If at the end of the 30 days they see that I can provide a much needed customer contact that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, my salary requirements are reasonable and negotiable.  My qualifications are outstanding and I don't need this job, because I am currently employed.

I couldn't believe this letter when I read it.  I know that you have not tried getting out of your contract as if you had your tone would have been completely different.  Wow, are you kin to Jim Jerk?

Partial Resolution Achieved

AUTHOR: George - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 07, 2010

After going through 5 months of statements, I did not find the check, that I had sent to them, had been processed.  I went on line and paid the dues and late fees immediately by an EFT which gave me immediate confirmation that they had received the payment this time.

My complaint that they do not return calls left on their answering machine remains unresolved, but I did receive an email from their administrator explaining that they prefer email, so they can answer it when they have the time to do so.

They sent me a new membership card that was a laminated home made card that lacked much of the identification information previously required by other affiliate RV resorts when it is used in conjunction with an RPI membership card.  Some of the questions that I asked in my email to them remained unanswered, by ignoring the question or skirting around answering the question.  I still find their customer service disappointing.  If it doesnt improve soon,  I will be in the market for a different RV Resort membership before June, 2010.

Observation...

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 03, 2010

It is interesting how you are accusing them of "poor record keeping".  Yet when they said that they did not receive your payment, you decided to write a RipOff Report before you "researched" your records.

I would hope that your record keeping includes reconciling your account.  Because if it was a check or debit you accounted for in your record keeping.  It would stand out to most people that it was not cashed yet, prompting them to do the research then.

Communication is key

AUTHOR: Leann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 03, 2010

If I were you, I would look into joining another RV resort.  The rebuttal by the company is so poorly worded, I can understand why they don't answer their phones.  I wonder how they even conduct business when they have such poor grammar.  I would definitely check to see what happened to your check and if it hasn't been cashed yet, stop payment on it.  If they have cashed it I would ask for a refund and find a better resort to be a member of.  I hope you get this resolved.  Good luck!

Rebuttal to Riverside Utah

AUTHOR: Administration - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, January 02, 2010

Our records indicate George and Eva Sundwall from Riverside, Utah purchased a membership to our resort. That one of the provisions of the membership is annual payment of dues. That the dues are to be paid July 1st of each year. That the last dues received on this account was on July 7, 2008. That on July 1, 2009 the dues were due. That to date no payment has been received. That on October 7, 2009 the account was turned over for enforced collection efforts. That is our company policy any account over 90 days is placed for enforced collections. That four (4) unanswered statements have been sent begining in June 2009. That we have searched our records for the months of June, July, August and September and were unsuccessful in locating any payment. That should the Sundwall's produce a copy of the canceled check they contend was made we will update the account. That our agreement we maintain with the collection company requires no contact be made with the customer once the account has been placed. That we had an email exchange with Mr. Sundwall in good faith in order to clear up the account. At the present time we find no basis in which to continue any further communication and all future commuication should be directed to the collection company.
