I been shopping around for some tires, Peps boys don't have my tires, walmart doesn't have my tires but tire plus does and they want to charge more then peps boys or walmart. Also I ran into a guy that I work with at the same time at tire plus and he has bought tires from them and he was telling me how his tire keeps going flat and they just keep giving him a new tire.
After two years you think the same thing wouldn't incovenience somebody if you weren't ripping them off. You have problems and you need to take care of them. I'm glad I didn't decide to purchase tires and walk out to talk to the guy I work with and also wanted to check a few other places besides these three. Thanks have a nice day.

B-F, PLEASE explain what an "improperly mounted" tire is.

B-F,
There is only 1 way to mount a tire. It is either mounted or it isn't. Not even a Wal-Mart tire jockey can screw this up. The only thing that can be screwed up is the balancing, but that will not affect the air issue.
Furthermore, if it is that much overinflated, it will most likely blow up on the spot. I always check my tire pressure as soon as I pull out from getting tires installed. ALWAYS.
Your OP never said anything about bait and switch. And, advertised specials are ALWAYS restricted to supply on hand. When they are gone, the sale is over!

well, number 4 tire can leak if not mounted properly to rim and number 5 overinflated when first mounted when put on can cause a blow out. Number 6 mount a tire that is defective, this actually happen that day I got mine at Walmart, the technican didn't continue to install the tire, called a manager for second opinion, manager told him to take the tire off. Nobody wants to mention these right.
My question in regards of being so defensive for comments posted by consumers doesn't fit number 7 and was completely avoided. I don't know what you can do with my collegue I am not him. I talked to him today and he only had one tire leaking but now your making him buy all four again for some reason, said the tread was to low. I was describing what happen to me when I try to get tires and ran into him out in the parking lot and was quoted 87 dollars for a tire you didn't have the general grabbers in stock and steered to a different tire which I didn't even need to begin with off road tires general american trac baha for 97 dollars and on sale for 67, I asked how much to order the grabbers and said they were 97, ten dollars more then the sales representative open his mouth with. I have a passenger vechicle two wheel drive pickup not a 4X4 but I didn't want those tires and was told I could order the tires that originally were 87 but end of converstation were 97 somehow.
Forget about leaking tires what about bait and switch tatics. Bait and switch is illegal and mounting improperly tires and defective tires can cause serious injuries. I have another college that came into the store and hour after I did has gone in other and me to try and buy tires for my truck and you had a cheaper tire in stock this time but try to steer him the american trac baha once again. These are verbal contracts right?

B-F, Tires only go flat for 3 reasons I know of

B-F,
Although it is still not clear exactly what the rip off is here, I'll address the tire going flat issue and the 3 reasons they do.
1. The customers wheel is damaged, and should be replaced.
2. The customer somehow damaged the tire by running over a nail, screw, etc or hits curbs.
3. The customer never checks the air pressure in the tire until they see it is flat or they have a blowout on the highway from the tire being underinflated.
ANY tire will go flat if abused or neglected.
I guess the percieved rip off here is that the first place you went did not have the tire in stock at the price you wanted to pay.
Is there some misplaced sense of entitlement here?

why so defensive if you not ripping people off

First I drive a Cheverolet Colorado pickup, pepboys carries general grabbers for my truck but they were out of stock and were 54.99 each. Walmart doesn't carry general tires but similar tire made by Kelly Spring Field, called Douglas X tracs which I went back after I left Tireplus and posted my original comments. Had these tires put on my truck $49 each. When I was at Tire plus and was told grabbers were out of stock and were 87 a piece if I wanted to order them but quickly directed to we do have generals american Xtrac Baha off rode tires for 97 a piece and sale price of 67. Then I asked well how much is it to order the grabbers and was told 97 each but not on sale.
So I left and started talking to the person I work with outside to the store. If I shop around on general tires website I can order them directly and the grabbers are 37 a piece but they are out of stock as well and I can get general american GS60 which originally was the stock tire for 50 each. Why are you so defensive when somebody posted their comments.

How do you know the price Wal-Mart or Pep Boys would be selling "your" tires for when they don't offer them for sale? Obviously you shold shop more than one place for anything to find the best price, but you can only shop those places that sell what you need.
What else should they do for your colleague but give him a new tire? They don't make the tires, they just sell them.
