TLC Performance (Toyota Land Cruiser) owned and operated by Jim Chenoweth of Ohio.

I have a rare Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40, hard to find parts and service for this specialty vehicle.  There is a web forum called IH8MUD which is a good place for tips parts etc.  I was having problems with my original carburetor, people on that web forum recommended Jim as the FJ-40 carburetor guru.

Great right? well not so much.  He generates business off that site, seems like he has a group of friends that recommend him for kickbacks, people mail him carbs to repair them and send back.  His prices are a little high, but the guru has to be worth money right?

Jim promised me a two week turnaround on the rebuild of my carburetor. I waited six weeks before I started complaining.  Three months of no returned calls, emails etc. No contact, then just as the four month mark comes I get a carburetor in the mail.  Not sure if it was my original carb, but just wanted the rebuilt unit I paid for.  I got a core, not rebuilt carburetor full on gunk.

So I paid $400, waited almost four months, and got junk back with no returned calls or emails. Is $400 worth flying to Ohio over? No....but what a scammer. Searching around on that web forum, he has a group of friends that have his back, but many pissed people over this same exact thing. Save your money, don't use this guy!
