My wife and I contracted Tyson Reagan of Total Resource Contracting and Reagan Roofing to do some home improvements along with a sunroom addition to our home. The complete contract include a new roof, replacing damaged siding, replacing deck rails and adding new steps, adding a new gutter system, painting our entire home and a sunroom addition.

The contract was signed for the amount of $28,500 on June 18,2005 with one change order added a couple of days later for $1,100. We made an initial payment of 50% of the job in a check for $14,250.00 and over the next two months had paid out a total of $25,550. This is about 90% of the contract amount. He completed our roof in a couple of days except for the area over where the sunroom was to be added.

We thought we were headed in the right direction, but we couldn't have been farther from the truth. Every day up until the day he walked off our job with 90% of our money and only 30% at best completed was a nightmare. He and his wife (who worked along side with him) rarely showed up for work and when they did it was usually with their hands wide open for a money draw. They did just as little work as possible to make us think they may actually be accomplishing something.

This I know now was a ploy to justify asking for more money ( which was almost daily) We had heard of this sort of thing happening to people but of course were in denial that it would happen to us. It should have been a big wakeup sign when his wife shows up in our drive in her new Ford Mustang a couple of days after the initial large payment.

When they asked for more money constantly and we asked where in the world all the money we had already given then had been spent, they threw out some sort of nonsense that we could not make heads or tails of. They could never show us any receipts. Keep in mind that scarely any work was getting done, so we could not imagine where they could be spending the money. We were novices at room additions and blindly trusted these scam artists.

We now realize that our money probably bought the car that Tyson's wife is now sporting around town. Needless to say, after paying out 90% of our contract( and even being asked to add $6,000 to that amount because they needed even more money to finish the job) they walked off the job, leaving us with only 30% of the job completed. We immediately called 3 separate contractors to give us estimates to finish the job. All agreed that Tyson's work was a huge mess.

There were several code violations and many things that needed to be fixed before the job could progress any further. All agreed that we had definitly been taken. They said the amount of work that had been done over 2 months time could have easily have been accomplished in 3-4 days!! They also estimated that we had overpaid for the amount of work that we got by about $15,000.

We are furious and absolutely sick that this has happened to us and surely wish for amends to be made. We would love to get a refund of our money and have these people put behind bars where they belong. I have worked many long hours to save the amount of money that these people walked away with and in essence, they have stolen what would have been a large part of my son's college fund, since I will have to come up with much more money to fix and finish the job.

My wife and I contracted Tyson Reagan of Total Resource to replace the roof in my house after they had replaced the roof of EIGHT of our neighbors. Tyson was honest and their work was perfect. I have nothing but good things to say about them and so did the Better Business Bureau. The only complaint that I have is that it took them 2 1/2 weeks to get started on my house. But I understand that when you are good at what you do, your going to get busy., if nine of us in my neighborhood did not have a single problem with Total Resource it may simply be that the guy who posted this may be one of those complicated pain in the a$$ people to deal with. We all know them.

2 sides to every story!

AUTHOR: Ty - (U.S.A.)

I wanted to get both sides on here when I heard about this. When we started the job for Anthony Tippins, we immediately had the roof replaced, had the septic tank moved & the old septic crushed. We then cut back the existing deck & began working on the footings & foundation. When we ordered the doors & windows Mrs. Tippins wanted to change the french doors & windows. This was almost $7,000.00 for just the material when I only allowed $3,000.00. I never received the extra, but was expected to order them anyway. So I did because they were a special order item & would take them 6 weeks to arrive after the date of purchase. We proceeded with the job & got to a point where we couldn't proceed with out the windows & door. Anthony refused to pay my brick mason so I paid him out of my pocket. I got on the phone with Anthony around the 10th of August to try to get a check and he told me I was not getting another check & that if I was not finished with the job by the 28th of August I would not get anymore money. I told him that the special order Items would not be in until the 25th & that it would be impossible to finish in 3 days. He said it was not his problem! My wife tried calling him back to work out a payment arrangement & he shouted at her calling her a stupid b***h & that we were fired & if we came on his property he would call the law. So I didn't, as anyone would do if told that.
Let me explain the mustang now. My wife was in a automobile accident 1 month after our son was born. After her settlement was resolved at the end of June she wanted to get a new car because the other one was totaled. She got the car she wanted & not a penny of Anthony Tippins money went towards the purchase of her car.
The comments that were posted here about me, my wife & my company were never verified through this website & I wouldn't have known this was here if one of my loyal customers had not told me about this. I am asking all of our customers to write in on our behalf & I will be happy to give referrences & answer any questions regarding this matter
