Trip Mate Inc Trip Mate Insurance Will not pay claims Kansas City Missouri

Purchased Trip Insurance for $274 from Trip Mate Inc to cover a vacation to Mexico.  We arrived in Mexico 2/23 without our luggage and filed a lost luggage report with the airline in Mexico.  Upon arrival at our hotel we communicated our situation with the concierge who took ownership of the issue as expected.  On 2/24 we were notified that our bags were still sitting in Nashville, TN.  On 2/25 we were notified that our bags were in route to Puerto Vallarta with a stop in Mexico City first.  On the afternoon of 2/26 we received our bags, mine smashed but my wife's fully intact.

Upon return to our home we completed all documentation from Trip Mate website for the claim, included originals of all documentation received from the airlines and the receipt for $122.29 to purchase clothing to fill the gap, and all documentation received from our Travel Agent providing proof of payment for the policy.

Weeksdlater we received a denied claim letter due to the airline not responding to Trip Mate email.  Calls to Trip Mate were answered with corporate scripts and supervisors were asked to call me back on two separate ocassions, both calls never recevied.  A third call to Trip Mate was met again with the standard script and again I requested a fllow up call from a supervisor.  Fianlly, Friday afternoon, I received a call with the supervisor repeating the same script and eluding to fraud in the idustry.  I explained that fraud would be plausible if the claim amount greatly exceeded the premium paid, other wise there would be no benefit from prchasing the policy.  Again, premium was $274 claim is for $122.29.

I would highly recommend that you use another provider or bypass trip insurance all together.  Trip Advisor is strongly recommended as a DO NOT BUY, I would never recommend them to anyone.
