Several years ago I was working on a refinance of my home mortgage when the lender notified us that my husband's credit had a collections notice from AT&T Wireless for $1400. Upon investigation, by my husband who happens to be a police officer, a report for stolen identity was filed. At which time, AT&T wireless was notified. The collections agency assured my husband that if he mailed in the police report, it would be removed in 30 days. I didn't have 30 days. I made numerous calls and thru my own deceptive practices (fight fire w/ fire) reached the VP of Operations for National Credit. This woman could not even find my husband's name based on his SS# in their own computer system. In fact, AT&T Wireless attached bad debt to my husband's credit using an address we never lived at....used a social security number that didn't match....his name was entered backwards, etc. Yet...they were still able to attach this debt to his credit report.

I was assured by the VP of Op that this would be taken off and she even forwarded a letter to my lender, profusely apologized for the lies that her employees had told us and consequently offered me a job because of my tenacious efforts. The 30-day clean up was completed in less than 24 hours. ....Or so I thought.

Two years later....We began receiving "canned" voice mail messages from a Michelle Taylore, asking that we call back about a business offer. This turned out to be Truelogic Financial. They apparently purchased this "bogus" account. My husband refused to give them his social security number over the phone. You can see why he might be leary. At that time he asked that they send him a letter requesting info. from him and he would return the request via certified mail. To date, approximately 4 months, we have received nothing!!!

What I find also to be ironic is that my husband and I had an account with AT&T wireless (in "great" standing) at the same exact time that the $1400 was charged on this "bogus" account. Now, I'm not a computer science major...but I could build an access database using the "wizard" feature that would allow me to check for duplicate name and social, and compare against address, etc. Taking 5 minutes of my time. It's hard to believe that an organization as large as AT&T can't do this.

If anyone is interested in filing a class action suit, I would be more than happy to nail these bozos to a wall. I can walk in to a courtroom with a credit score of 790 -even while this erroneous information is once again on its way to Experian. I would like to demonstrate through a court of law how they have broken every regulation stated within the Fair Consumer Credit Reporting Act. They are past the two-year deadline for writing, which they never did - even when asked...; they are past the four-year deadline for a judgement....which Experian, At+T, and National were all informed with a copy of a police report....a judgement was never filed....the debt was previously removed...with supporting documentation, that again notified AT&T. As stated, I would revel in the opportunity to participate in a class action.

After this posting I intend to file an M53 report for phone harrassment. I am personally suing Mr. Peter Piccolo, Senior Vice President of Truelogic Financial Services for harrassment and mental anguish suffered by myself and my family at the hands of those he employs...And finally, I will report all of this to the media by paying "personally" for printing a press release in every major news publication regarding AT&T Wireless' creation, participation, associations, and having first-hand knowledge, knowingly and wantonly engaging in the practice and support of committing federal offenses against the citizens of this country, and the "consumers" who made them as big and as powerful as they are today. Beware the hand that feeds you!
