Tuffy Auto Service Centers Attempted Fraud Against Senior Citizen Spring Hill Florida

On 10/30/07 I received a call at work from the "regional manager" of Tuffy Auto Service Center. My 80-year old mother, who lives in Spring Hill, had taken her car in for an oil change. She was told her car needed almost $2,400 worth of repairs and that her car was not safe to drive. They had driven her home "as a service"

The crux of the story was that her radiator was dirty. I strongly and specifically advised them to do no work other than complete oil change. The next day I had a qualified mechanic examine the car carefully. He advised she probably should have the radiator flushed at some time in the future, costing perhaps $60.00. The nearly $2,400 was completely unnecessary and was fabricated. The car was perfectly fine and safe to drive.

My mother also paid them to rotate the tires, which the mechanic thought they did not appear to do.
