The mechanic, a Mr. Ledbetter of Twiins Auto Service in Dayton, Ohio did not inspect or repair the problem which was in question, but charged for repair and labor of different concern. I contacted the mechanic regarding a specific issue relating to a manufacturers recall of the vehicle. I inquired whether or not the issue with the vehicle was related to the specific recall and asked the mechanic to let me know if so, otherwise fix the issue. The mechanic contacted me with an estimate for repair which included only what he had assumed was causing problems without inspecting the specific problem and area I had questioned. I was not made aware that the mechanic did not properly and fully inspect the vehicle as I had requested, until after he performed unnecessary work in an attempt to repair problems indicated by engines codes. When I came to pick up the vehicle I paid the charges and found the vehicle to be in inoperable condition with engine codes reading when leaving the mechanics lot. I brought the vehicle back within minutes and he checked the vehicle and said that he would correct the problem. A day or two later the mechanic contacted me and said that after talking to a third party he decided that I was right about what I thought was wrong with the vehicle. However, he continued to say that he would not be able to repair the problematic area. Instead of admitting to improper repair, the mechanic tried to tell me that I now needed a new motor which he could obtain for me for at an additional cost on top of the charges I had already paid in full. Not only was unnecessary work performed, but the vehicle now has other issues which include improper idling and very poor acceleration. Mr. Ledbetter of Twiins Auto Service argues that he at least made the engine codes go away however, the vehicles check engine light is still on.
