I was recently contacted by one Mr. Bello Basa concerning the passing of a late uncle in Nigeria. This man claimed that my uncle had worked for Shell Oil Corp. and had passed away in a car wreck 4 years ago. The beneficiary of my uncle would be receiving $30 million dollars...to be split 60/40 with Mr. Bassa and myself. It took him this long to find a suitable next of kin.

Claiming to be my "uncle's" attorney, he proceeded with sending me a copy of his passport (probably bogus) and a payment application form (also probably bogus) for the Union Bank Of Nigeria for inheritance remittance. The common theme in all these correspondences was the time frame to which these matters be concluded - 10 days, or the bank would confiscate the funds. Also, Basa made it clear that all correspondence go through him and everything be made confidential.

Next, Mr. Basa went to High Court of Nigeria to obtain the "vital records" of my uncle at 9:30 am PST on a Saturday. This would have been at least 5:30 or 6:30PM in Nigeria when the courts and Banks should be closed.

Finally, he emailed me a request of $4120 to obtain the "records" from the courts. I responded by informing him that I was forwarding all the previous emails and correspondences to my cousin in the FBI and to my attorney to investigate the legitamacy of these matters.
