I had a credit card with a limit on it due to a dissability I couldnt afford to pay them off. It has been on all three of my credit reports. In 2003 I met a nice man and decided to pay off bills. They offered to settle for half they did not tell me that it was worse as a chargde off.
So I disputed because it was over 7 years they transfered it to another credit company and it shows the same thing chardge off oh and now it says 2005. So I disputed again now its this United credit National Bank. I even contacted better business burea they beleived the company I even gave them the phone num that showed up but when I called it was disconeccted. Now it shows up as 2006. Im tired of fighting and I kept all my reciets that I payed.

When you have a charged-off debt, if you make even one payment, it starts all the timers all over again. Every time you tried to pay them back, tehy moved your debt date tobe current, so unless you have no contact at all with them for seven years, it will never drop off your report.
That being said, if you owe them money, it's not really unfair that thay show that on your credit rteport.
