My boyfriend came home with a message for me from these people, United Processing, more specifically, C.C. Johnson.  Not knowing what this was about, I called them.  I spoke to this person's supervisor who was nice until I gave her the case number I was given.  I was told that I was going to be brought up on charges for theft of rental property, for a laptop I had rented to own through this company I know as Coast to Coast PC.  I had been having technical problems with this laptop since the day it came in my door, and it was missing an enter key on the numeric keypad and now the numeric keypad no longer works.  I called about this numerous times and apparently my complaints fell on deaf ears.  I was told to ship the laptop back to acer (which would have cost nearly 100 dollars to do the way they wanted it done) and I explained as I am on disability this was more than I could afford to lay out to ship the laptop off to get repaired.  I also tried to make reasonable arrangements within my budget to pay for the laptop, but I could not afford to lay out what they were asking me (well over 1,000 dollars) for at the time.  Every effort I made to make good on this that was not exactly what they wanted was rudely responded to, and I was told that I would be arrested and jailed for theft if I didn't do exactly what they wanted immediately.  I found it rather odd also that the people I signed a rental agreement with, Coast to Coast PC, whenever my bank account was debited, the charge came through as, "National Ford Motor Company."  All I know is this - I called these people trying to make good on this - and they refused any attempt I made to do so.  Which to me means I owe them nothing, especially since important parts of this laptop no longer work and they are unwilling to help me fix it, and didn't even so much as call me to see what was going on.
