Univ of Dreams, if you think paying thousands of dollars to get what
you should get for free is a good deal, you don't need an internship, you need
a brain! This place is a total scam! If you call and try to get info on what
kind of internship they offer, you will be ignored. All the want to tell you is
their sales pitch. If you ask questions or want to know if they can get you the
internship you need they ignore you. In case your not following this is a big
red flag. Don't deal with any company that won't answer your questions first.
BTW, they talk about "the experience" that doesn't mean the job or
the training, they are more interested in selling you a travel plan. Stay far
far away. Get an internship that gets you into your career, not an overpriced
vacation!

Ok so first off Dream Careers is a rip off ! Let's pay 8,000$ plus for an internship which would normally give you a place to stay AND pay you while your there. So what Dream Careers does is charge you money to find you an internship , then the company your internship is with also pays them for your free labor and gives them a percentage of the money they would have paid out for your stay, sooo your paying a large sum of money to work for free ? Dream Careers is basically a staffing agency for college kids who want to travel and have the experience but then get ripped off by doing so. So you are paying dream careers for an internship , the company your internship is with also pays dream careers for your free labor lol sounds like a very good money maker for dream careers. Why not just apply to internships and get the experience because you were selected and paid for a an internship, rather than buying one lol and then working for free ?? How good do you think it's going to look on a resume that you bought your self an internship rather than earned it or were actually selected for it ? Anyone can buy an internship but to earn or be selected for one is an achievement. So if you feel going to an internship staffing company who rips you off and makes Monet off your free labor as well is the way to go , by all means hand your parents money off. Your basically paying for the experience and the trip. Internships normally give you a free place to stay AND pay you for your work as well but at dream careers you pay a large lump sum for them to make money off your free labor lol. Yeah great way to go.

Wow, I find that a little hard to believe. You do not sound very informed about the company at all. Research, have an actual experience with the company and form an opinion before whining about how they "ignored" you during the process. I interned in LA and it was actually the best summer of my life. All the full time staff are great. I got a chance to work with most of them on a personal level with the Dream Careers Bus tour. No one has ever "ignored" me. Everyone is really open. A scam? Tell that to the DC Alumni that have secured a job of their dreams because of Dream Careers. Not to mention they have connections to 3000+ employers. After looking at that extensive list you failed to find your dream internship? Sucks for you. You said you called and asked what internships they offer? Buddy, the internships are on the website. All you would have to do in order to get an EXTENSIVE list is enroll and these aren't just low blow companies, they are very high end and otherwise HARDER to get into otherwise UNLESS you have connections there. Go apply for CNN in NY while being a college student in a small town in missouri. You think they will even make a second glance at your resume? Think again.

I wouldn't take back any penny that I invested in the company. I'm glad there's only one report about this because what you stated made no sense and sounded unbelievable. Experience? Yes I had a lot of EXPERIENCE with the job I did because it was very hands on. In fact I learned more during my internship than my 4 years of college. The travel along with it is a plus but that's not the only thing that is beneficial. They talk about travel because it is a BENEFIT! The internship as a whole is what's awesome and it's also something to put on your resume. Overpriced vacation? Okay, go to London and get an unpaid internship without the benefits of having housing, food and transportation included. The EURO system alone is pretty expensive. Also try traveling along Europe WITHOUT the all inclusive package that is offered. And you think all of it is an overpriced vacation?? If you were to secure an unpaid internship on your own you would pay that and MORE. The study abroad program at my school was $10,000 for only 2 weeks! vs getting to stay in London for 8 solid weeks for $9,000. That's $1,000 less for a longer period of time. And it's ironic you said "get an internship that gets you a career." HA too bad they asked 70% of interns last summer to come back and work for them. I had the time of my life interning at MY top company of choice. I'm sorry that you had such bad luck.
