I have had a bad start with this college. I had to make a Leave of Absence for a month. In the meantime, I have requested for full online classes upon my return. I returned to classes, on campus. The financial adviser had me sign papers for my student loans three times. Promising that the loans should be ready in November in the middle of my second credit bearing class. I haven't seen or even received a letter telling me of the loans. The academic adviser left or quit shortly, about a month later. They gave me another adviser that is out of state. I can not get a hold of this person. Multiple phone calls and emails have not been responded to. I tried to get a hold of my academic adviser, in which I will add is the fourth one they have appointed to me. No response on phone calls or emails either. I have been told that this is possibly fraud and theft; and that I should get a hold of the loan company, and maybe a lawyer, to ensure that the money is either returned to the loan company or put into another college that will make sure that I am there to succeed and not to have these worries anymore.

You can find out if your loan was returned to the lender or if it was disbursed to the school by going to nslds.ed.gov. When you log in it will provide you with info on all of your financial aid and where it is. Hope this helps. If you returned from your leave of absence they should disburswe it, if not it is supposed to be returned to the lender. I hope this helps!

A leave of absence is a paper that I have signed saying how long I will be out of school and for what reason. This paper also shows that my absence will not take away any eligibility for loans or grants. It has nothing to do with the loan. My gpa is above the requirement for approval.

When you said you had a "leave of absense" for a month, when was it? Does it mean you had already registered for classes but did not attend those classes for a whole month? If so, you need to check the financial aid and the University policies.
I am not saying the university is doing right, but I am saying that they may lie to you about your eligibility on financial aid and/or loan. If anything goes wrong, as a result, the person who pays the price is you, not them or the loaner.
