I received a check on Dec. 19, 2008, dated Dec. 11, 2008, for $4980 payable on Peoples Heritage Savings Bank, Rte. 121, Casco, ME 04015-9715, with the same instructions described by Scooter, for allegedly winning $125K USD and instructing me to call the same telephone number Scooter described before attempting to cash said check.
I immediately suspected that the next step by Upper Fox would be to ask me to send their suspect check through my account and ask me to send them the moneygram or wire for the $2,980 supposedly to pay the tax agent with my funds.
I called the telephone number and got a voicemail response.

So you are suspicious---Great!!! But many are not and follow instructions and find their bank accounts wiped out!
The only way we can put a STOP to these scam mailings is to REPORT them!!!!
Suggest filing a "fraud" division report with the following:
1)US MAIL SERVICE----1-877-876-2455 or www.Postalinspectors. uspis.gov
2)Federal Trade Commission----1-877-832-4357 or www.ftc.gov
3)your local BBB
4)your local Attorney General's office
This will take a little of your time, but it's well worth it, if we can STOP these scams!!!!!
