I too was deceived by the Urban Florist rip-off. We planned to send some flowers and a gift basket to relatives in Florida. I searched the Internet for a florist in the Tampa area and I got the site for Urban Florist which suggested that they were dealing with a local florist (SCAM!). It indicated delivery between 3 to 7 days. (SCAM!)
A few days later, I checked my VISA statement and was surprised to find a charge for Artisan Flowers and Gifts in Vancouver BC for over CAD$ 230. This was much higher than the converted US$ value of our order. By my calculation they charge for currency exchange was much higher than usual (SCAM!).
The basket was delivered on Dec. 29 and the flowers have not yet been delivered (Jan 22)(SCAM!). The company replied to my call only once around Dec. 22 and have not responded to numerous calls and e-mails since (SCAM!). For a while, the line was even disconnected (SCAM!). I have requested a refund by -email but have not had any response (SCAM!).
This company should be out of business. Next time I do business over the Internet, I'll check for complaints. This is how I found out, but too late!
