Received a call at work specifically for me. To the best of my knowledge that information is not available.
Was told I had been randomly selected to receive a $9000 grant, tax-free.
Was given a confimation number and a phone number that was answered "US Treasury Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The number checked out to be from Seattle, Washington; it is 206-629-6012. When I tried to look it up there was no caller ID associated with it.
When I called I gave the confirmation number and was told how I could choose to receive the money: via Western Union or Moneygram or by direct deposit to my bank account. I was then asked to pay a $250 fee to register with the Federal Reserve Bank.
Was a bit suspicious, so I tried to verify online and came across this site and someone who had had a similar issue.
