I'm in a bit of a pickle financially these days. Lost my job back in May, and recently found a part time gig for a company I really love working for, but unfortunately can not make ends meet on this job alone.
So I started looking for payday advances and ways to get some money on google (stupid I know...) and found a site promising a 10,000 cash advance. Originally did not apply. However, received an e-mail later on (not sure how they got it, maybe it was just coincidence) and decided to go ahead and give it a try.
It's a 3-1 application for an Imagine credit card, a $1,500 payday advance, and a $7,500 Nationwide platinum "credit" card.
The only fee I was notified about before entering my information and agreeing to the terms was a $4.95 debit in the event that my application for the Imagine Mastercard was approved.
Then, after the application process was completed the confirmation site informed me that I would be debited for a $149.95 fee for the Nationwide card (which doesn't even have a credit logo on it) within one business day.
Usually I look up scam reports before I go through with things like this, but right now I'm just so desperate for money I didn't think to.
Luckily it's Sunday night, not a business day. I called my bank and IMMEDIATELY freezed my checking account. They didn't even get the opportunity to debit my account before I froze it, THANK GOD.
Tomorrow I will be going to the bank, closing this account and opening a new one, transferring the current funds over to the new one. I'll also attempt to cancel the account with USA credit, but won't put too much effort into it since they can't get my money anyway.
I'm thankful I was able to stop this before it really hurt me, I've read DOZENS of reports of other people who were drained of money, and they were in a really bad financial situation just like me. I'm poor enough without someone taking what LITTLE money I do make.
This company should be shut down and the people who are behind this scam should be jailed for fraud, and I'm talking life sentence worth. I'm sure they've taken millions from people just like me.
STAY AWAY from these types of things. Do NOT give your account or personal information over the internet. I, and all of the others on this site have found out the hard way.
