I signed up with Virgin Mobile about 2 years ago on a pay as you go basis. I wanted to take advantage of their rollover minutes so I set up for them to debit my check card $20 a month to purchase minute packs (if you don't purchase minute packs regularly, then your rollover minutes evaporate.)
I recently got a new cell phone and plan with another provider (I had heard horror stories about porting from Virgin so I opted to just avoid that mess all together.) I forgot to remove the auto charge from my account and so when they automatically charged me my monthly $20 I politely wrote them and asked that my money be refunded.
Virgin Mobile replied to my request saying that they "cannot" refund minutes once they have been purchased and that if I wanted to stop the account from auto debiting to give them the authorization. Which I did.
Fast forward another month and I find that they have charged me once again. When I wrote them this time and point out that this was still occurring they said that I never sent authorization and that they still will not refund any money once minutes have been purchased. I pointed out that I was not asking for the $20 from the month previous, but rather the most current $20 that they had taken from me without my permission.
I have corresponded with their support staff several times and they steadfastly refuse to refund my money. I strongly urge anyone considering using Virgin Mobile to avoid doing any sort of business with them. If you are currently with Virgin Mobile it would behoove you to find a better provider before you get bitten.
