VOLT Solar Systems Inc. Aztec Solar, First Power and Light, Inc., Jerry Wenger, Jerome Wenger, Thomas Moore Failed to honor contracted agreement. Bridgeport Pennsylvania

This company failed to complete the work in accordance with the contracted agreement, resulting in significant economic and time loss for the customer.

In August of 2013 I began negotiations with Volt Solar Systems (then known as First Power and Light, previously known as Aztec Solar) to install a residential solar photovoltaic system on a home in PA.  By mid-Oct 2013 we had worked out all of the details and signed a contract for First Power and Light to complete the design, planning, permitting, acquisition, installation, and coordinate all inspections and interconnection paperwork.  It was a comprehensive, turn-key, grid-tied solar system to be installed by the end of Nov 2013. 

I made the hefty initial payments which amounted to half the total sales price by the contracted dates.  The dates were important because I was concerned about the eclipsing of the Pennsylvannia Sunshine program (a state solar installation benefit that was worth $7500 to my project).  The project needed to be completed by 31 Dec 2013 in order to ensure the state benefit. 

By mid-November of 2013 no work had been done on my project and the company informed me that they would not receive the inverters for my project until the end of December.  The winter of 2013-2014 turned out to be bad and weather futher delayed my project.  However, even after the weather improved, the company did not start actual construction on my project until Apr 1, 2014.  

The company promised that their personnel would remain on the job until it was finished.  This did not happen.  The construction phase lasted until June 2014.  During that time, the workers failed to clean up after themselves leaving trash and moldy pizza boxes on the property. 

Eventually, the company completed the contruction and my system was finally generating electricity.  Unfortunately, the company failed to complete the necessary interconnection paperwork with the power company.  This led to a protracted negotiatioin with the power company to receive payment for the electricity our system produced from June 2014-Oct 2014. 

We didn't finish cleaning up the mess this company created until nearly a year after the contracted completion date for this project.  The delays and unprofessional conduct of this company cost us considerable stress as well as financial loss in the form of time value of our invested money.
