I had a wishlist with Walmart. Someone ordered a 2 dvd pack off of it and sent it site to store. The movies were care bears movie/ second star to the left. When I received it instead of the 2nd star to the left it was some movie called stellaluna.
At the Walmart store (Huntington WV) I tried to refuse it and get the correct item sent but they said they couldn't do replacements only refunds and then only to the original purchasing method (the person who ordered it for me). The associate did check the skew and it was for the item I actually ordered. Obviously it was packed at the factory wrong.
I sent 2 or 3 emails and was told it was being escalated. I waited in vain for a follow up. Finally almost a month later I get a phone call. I wasn't there so they left a number and I called it. I was told they could not replace it even though it was a walmart error.
I asked for a supervisor. I got a lady named Brandy who was very rude and said if I return the item a credit would be put on the original card and that I couldn't get a replacement sent. She admitted she knew of the problem with that particular dvd set but still would not help me.
I called again and spoke to someone who told me I could get walmart online credit If I returned it but I couldn't get the rma to print as walmart's system kept saying it could not find my order.
So then I called again and was told that the last person was uninformed they couldn't do a credit. I then waited for about an hour while the rep talked with a manager. Finally they said they would send me an Rma number to return and note the account and when they receive it back send a replacement.
I did not want the money going back to the card because someone that I don't know bought the item for my daughter off an online wish site. I didn't want to have to bother them with getting a refund and reordering and since it was walmart's error not mine or the purchasers I don't see why I should have to go to all that trouble.
I got the RMA package today so I guess I'll see if they make good. All of this is over a $15 dvd set. You would think a company as big as Walmart would have their stuff together a bit more.
I will never order anything off their webpage or do site to store again and I likely will avoid their stores as well. It being a 15 item I could have let it go and not bothered so much but it is more the point of the matter. They will send you an incorrect item and then I had to go though hades and back trying to get the correct item.
Now I might not even get it before Christmas if at all. I am not a happy customer and wanted to warn people. If I had this much trouble of a $15 item and their error I can imagine how much trouble you would have with a bigger item.
