DISASTER!!!!!
Walters Chevrolet, in Pikeville, Kentucky sold me a piece of junk, How many things do u think can go wrong with a car in the 1st 2 weeks or how about it ???
Purchased Car 1995 Pontiac Firebird had 102,000 miles on 12-31-03 On way home noticed signal lights was blinking very fast cost me $59.00 for turn signal socket, then the following next day, purchased a $1800.00 dollar stereo and speakers and amp. It rained that night and went out next morning and there was over 5 inches of water in my trunk , and my speaker box had water in it and it fell apart!!!!!
So was on way to dealer and the driver window motor went out ,and it was raining !!! T-T TOPS leaking also!!! , So I hurried back home have to wait for rain to quit. So I started out next day and transmission started slipping ,THEN AGAIN, had to stop and put fluid in it and come home !!!!
Finally I decided to have work done myself. I had power window motor drivers side put in $ 150.00 and seal in rear end transmission $75.00 And the mechanic told me I had another bad seal in side of transmission bad so he put it in another $50.00 so after this, had a doctor appointment next day took the car and I noticed when coming out of Doctors Office had red transmission fluid coming out front end of car!! I looked and sure enough had transmission fluid in my radiator!!! I left sraight there and to mechanics he said the Radiator side of it was busted inside the side that cools the transmission fluid.
So I couldn't get it to dealer that way so I paid $ 175.00 for them to replace Radiator and thermostat!!!
So after that is done and on way to do errands and transmission starts up again, WELL BACK TO SHOP!!!! AND had to replace trans-fluid and filter $45.00. I finally get it to dealer 2 weeks later and it rained that night the Manager sees the 5 inches of rain or more in trunk and has a mechanic look at it and they can't find no leaks I told him everything that has went wrong with car, and he says anything under $5,000.00 NO WARRANTY!!!!
Well, I paid around $4200.00 for the car, and told him how he could call mechanic on the repairs or the place I bought the stereo system how it fell apart because of this!!! He told me to bring it back next week for the water doctors to look at it. During that time the car started missing had to put plugs and plug wires on it and the mechanic that did it also changed the oil in it only had car 3 weeks and he said THERE IS NO WAY THIS CAR WAS MAINTENANCED THE FIRST OF JAN OR LAST OF DECEMBER!!! OIL WAS BLACK AND THICK AND THE PLUGS WAS RUSTED!!!!! Another $60.00 , so back to dealer I go and the water docs says they can't find no leaks but I finally argued enough with management they replaced the gasket around the liftback and the car STILL LEAKS,, I had to go to stereo place and pay them another $50.00 to fix my speaker box.
NOW THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS OF PURCHASING CAR it is now June 2004 and since the passenger side window motor has gone out and replaced another $150.00 and
Tonight the charging system on the car and the fan relay quit working and the drivers window will not go up no more
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP as to which I'm still paying on car to finance comp. SO PLEASE PEOPLE OF EASTERN KY BEWARE!!!!

I have purchased two preowned vehicles from Walters and had nothing but good service from both of them.. I was offered a full warranty with both of them and only had to use the waranty once for a bad A/C clutch. I have no beef with Walters. his person obviously expected more from $4000.00 worth of car. I got a good laugh when I read that she spent $1800 on a stereo. She should have used that as a down payment on something better, or added that to her car budget.

It Figures

A car is a means of transportation. She buys an 11 year old "sportscar" with 102,000 miles on it, for "around $4200". "The following next day, purchased an $1800 stereo, speakers and amp" to put in it, almost 50% of the price of the car. I'll bet if she put a tenth of the amount of time checking the car, that she spent researching the "$1800 stereo, speakers and amp" , she would have found out the car was a POS. If she had taken the vehicle to an independant mech, to be checked out, PRIOR to the purchase, the mech would have found the flaws, PRIOR to the purchase. But NO, she was in to much of a hurry to find a home for her "$1800 stereo, speakers and amp.

This customer purchased a used vehicle with over 100,000 miles for $4000.00 dollars and purchased it as is with no warranty. She was told prior to purchase that she could have a mechanic of her choice inspect the vehicle. She signed the Federal Buyers Guide required by law and our own disclosure that the purchase was As Is No Warranty. Unfortunately $4000.00 does not buy you much in a automobile these days, you can't buy a good riding mower for that anymore. We made a good faith attempt to address some of her concerns but found very quickly that she expected us to make a $4000.00 near new.
