My experience with Wanner Ford has been a very frustrating one. I searched high and low for a quality used truck to buy for my sons landscaping business and finally found one that I liked and agreed on a price only to have it sold out from under me. Don't know if they recieved a higher offer or realized they needed more for the truck, but I was told on the day I was acquiring insurance for the truck that it was "gone". I said, what do you mean it's gone, they said....."It's sold". Still don't know why or how this happened, but they don't seem to be concerned about it.
You'd think in this economy they'd be a little more concerned with how they treat customers. If you don't posses the initiative to maintain a customer base long enough to generate repeat business, for God sakes, at least have the common sense to get through the deal with a first time customer without offending them and driving them away before the deal is done.
It's not bad enough that every time I called leading up to the deal, they put you on hold for sometimes 15 minutes and never come back to you. Very poor place to do business.
Did I mention that my company had a new 2010 F350 pick up truck on order at the time of this little debacle. The key word being "Had". That order has since been cancelled.
From the looks of some of these reports, Wanner Ford is obviously no stranger to deceptive business practices. When one of their salespersons tells you that a deposit won't be necessary, don't listen to them. There is no such thing as a gentlemens agreement at Wanner Ford. Buyers beware.

Customer is correct; employee was dismissed

The customer in this report is correct. We should have sold the truck to him but at that moment. The salesperson was at fault for making a verbal promise instead of reducing the transaction to paper. It is our policy to have all of our inventory for sale unless held with a deposit and a signed order. However, while the customer should know this (he is a manager at a large manufacturing facility) it does not excuse the behavior of the salesperson and we did offend a potential customer. We did contact customer post situation and did attempt to resolve with other similar trucks. Salesperson is no longer with the company.
Now, whoever lives in Orlando and like to post on this incident, I sincerely doubt you know me or my business practices. If you do have a complaint you must be local so let’s talk but to trash my name in an anonymous manner is truly cowardly. I am here every day and will openly discuss your pent up issues.

It sure looks like poor customer relations to me! The least they could have done is called this guy and said "we have another offer...do you want to counter it?" The being put on hold for long periods of time is also garbage. He did exactly the right thing by cancelling the other order.

What a joke!

This comment is intended for the 2 individuals who felt it necessary tomake ridiculous comments about something of which they know nothing. (unless the comments were actually made by employees or Mike Wanner himself). This company is by far the WORST, most unprofessional dealership around and believe me the Unprofessionalism starts at the top with Mike Wanner. It would take me pages to explain everything I know about this dealership. They simply do not care about customers. They do not care about bad publicity. I guess they figure most people will write off the bad publicity as someone just complaining about another car dealer. Lets face it, when you buy a car you usually expect to be "taken for a ride'. Well Wanner Ford takes this to a whole new level. Put it this way, when a 'reputable' dealership refuses to take your trade because it was purchased at Wanner Ford (refusing a sale) that speaks volumes. How many car salesman do you know that REFUSES a sale.

The simple fact is, its tough for car dealers to sell cars right now. To be honest, unless you put money down to hold the truck, it was fair game to anyone that had the money or financing. You really sound like a serious cry baby, and I would imagine that you did them a favor by buying from somewhere else.
