WESTBURY TOYOTA - TOYOTA OF WESTBURY - WESBURY-HICKSVILLE TOYOTA Cousin to bait and switch a MONTH after I drove off the lot...HARASSING ME FOR $2000.000-threat to take car back!! Westbury, New York

I went to see Rick Hall, who sold me my last car.

I explained to Rick we wanted a lease payment of $200-$275.00, he said he had a great lease on a 2010 Scion XB for $264/a month with $896.00. We thought that sounded like a great price for our financial bracket and decided to make a deal.  

I explained to Rick that my boyfriend would be leasing the car and I would co-sign. This was my boyfriends first car and did not have any credit, therefore I extended myself as a co-signer.

Rick said no problem, since I was already in their system as an up to date customer making payments on time and had a credit score above 650, we could do it.  Rick wrote up the paperwork and said we were in business but we had to come back the following day to pickup the car and sign the lease.

When my boyfriend and I arrived Rick said there was a "snag" in the paperwork and the bank rejected the loan.  Therefore he recommended I lease the car myself and just add my boyfriend as a driver on my Geico policy.

Considering we needed an extra car,  I decided to lease the car myself.  

We wait exactly 1 hour before the paperwork is presented to us by CLIFF SMALLS.  He apologizes in his loud grandiose way for waiting so long and says he is even going to give us the first month free because we had to wait.....but really we paid the 1st month in the down payment on December 30th so that would count for January.  Therefore, there was no first month free. 

Od Dec 30th we drive off the lot with our signed lease and think we are done with Toyota.On January 2nd I receive a call from Rick Hall and he tells me that because I went to TOYOTA OF HUNTINGTON first and they rejected me-I had to come back in and put Jim back on the lease because TOYOTA OF WESTBURY can now get sued.  I thought to myself, why is that my problem? Being a responsible person my boyfriend and I went down there and CLIFF SMALLS had new paperwork written up with now Jim as the lessee and myself as the co-signer.  All the numbers for the monthly payment look the same and everything on the lease is the same accept Jim my boyfriend is now on the paperwork.  The ins and registration are all still in my name AND he kept the dat of 12-30 on the new paperwork even though it was JANUARY 2nd.  He then took my old lease and SHREDDED it and sent us on our way.

On Jan 4th we received a call from CLIFF SMALLS stating the loan was rejected AGAIN and he needed Jim's diploma because that was part of the lease agreement.  Jim went to WESTBURY TOYOTA and they took a copy of his diploma.

On January 23rd my boyfriend Jim receives another call from CLIFF SMALLS who tells him the bank rejected the loan again and in order to keep the car on the road they need $2,000.00 up front or our payment will shoot up to $346.00 a month!!!!!!

So a whole month later even thought we paid a months insurance and the first month payment as well as $1,096.00 down payment we STILL dont have approval and CLIFF SMALLS says unless we come up with the money TOYOTA will take our car back. I had to go down to TOYOTA on Saturday and tell CLIFF SMALLS I DONT HAVE THE MONEY AND AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED I HAVE A SIGNED LEASE AGREEMENT nd it wasn't my problem to fix.  CLIFF told me it was my problem, so i told him if he cant fix the problem, I WANT A CERTIFIED CHECK ON MONDAY and he can take it back.  I refuse to fork over any more money.

I find this completely irresponsible, out of line, a major headache and NOT MY PROBLEM!  I will NEVER purchase another TOYOTA ever again.  My boyfriend being a first time buyer is completely turned off.So now I have to sit here an wait till Monday to find out what is going on with our car and I'm extremely displeased with my entire experience.
