Whatcom Humane Society Animal Shelter Stolen cat, rude, disrespectful, bad service, won't let us have our cat, fees, only want money Bellingham Nationwide

our cat Daley went missing a little over a month ago. I called our local vet offices and the local humane society. The other night I was looking at fb and there were some listings for adoptable animals. I saw a picture of a cat that looked like Daley, so I emailed them. I was told to come in to identify OUR cat. So my husband and kids went in, and sure enough, it was our cat. After filling out some paperwork, we were told that it would cost us $405 to get our cat out... Yet anyone else could go in and adopt her for $25 (they are having a sale for any animas that have black on them). So basically bc we didn't go to the humane society to look for our cat sooner, they are penalizing us. My 6 year old daughter was so upset, and crying, and the guy was just being a jerk. We paid for this cat from Petsmart. And we were also told that we couldn't have anyone else adopt her for us either, even if the cat were to stay at their house. We feel like we've basically had our cat stolen from us. We just want our cat back. She is ours... We paid for her.
